WEFC 2 - Halesowen 1

First match I've seen for a while. Too much long ball from defence, still, but we looked far sharper and much more like a team.

Jake and Davey combined excellently on the wings (although I felt Jake would have been even better if he'd received more service) and Chenns looked surprisingly comfortable alone up front, Manuella was useful behind him. Delroy looked pretty good in goal, I don't yet have the faith in him I had in Bully but I think he wasn't to blame for that late goal...

Overall we looked pretty good and comfortable throughout at this level.

What a good result another win a great start dont think many would have predicted the start we have had before the season started. On the note of the goalkeeper when is Bully going to be fully fit ?? Still have players to come back which will make us stronger really now starting to think we will stay up comfortably well done all at the club really are doing a good job so far lets keep it up!! up the royalists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bully is well in the road to being fully fit. He played a game on Tuesday which went to extra time and penalties and played again today for Fleet Spurs. Hopefully he will feature in a few more games over the next few weeks before being fit enough for first team action.

Great performance again and still improving with every game! The defence was awesome again with Justin Clayton the stand out player for the second game running! Thought the ref was poor second half, should have played advantage when Pearce netted and where he found 6 minutes stoppage time is beyond me!

Best performance i've seen this season. Delroy and the back four looked solid. Fiston and Dave Pierce were stand outs in a very hard working midfield, and Chenns was very busy as always, though he did look tired towards the end, which is understandable given the amount of football he's played recently.

I thought we comfortably deserved the win, despite the most appallingly one sided refereeing display i've seen in years.

Also good to see Delroy going mental at his defence after their 98th minute consolation goal !!

Happy days :applaus:

Another strong performance against a team that were expected to be up there this season. The defence is looking better and better and the central pairing is looking like it could be as good if not better than lasst year.

The question on the terraces was "Is this team better than last year's?" or maybe "is it going to be better than last year's?" We look stronger down both wings, Chenns is looking stronger and fitter, Fiston wins everything sitting just behind Chenns and we hold onto the ball in midfield and play it around superbly. As the playing surface at Stag Meadow improves I think we are going to look better and better.

Teams are no longer going to look at Windsor as an easy 3 points (Leamington, Brackley and Chesham take note!!) I just wonder how we are going to fare against teams that don't let us play our game.

Several good points made about Saturday's performance. Team confidence growing and the width/speed supplied by Jake and David - let alone their desire to take people on - is causing untold damage to opponents. Given the partnership that is growing in stature between Dave and Justin at the back, the more teams who simply belt it forward the better it is for us to win the ball back and start creating again. We've shown we can do it against clubs who fancy their chances of promotion or have simply thrown unrealistically large amounts of cash at their teams, and we're now a third of the way towards the target for staying in the division, with less than a quarter of the games played.

On the subject of the pitch, a word of praise for Ian, Lewis and George for the amount of work they're putting in. Few supporters see what goes on each day of the week at the ground, and these guys are working for hours to cut, feed, cover, encourage, cut, and mark the pitch for our games. Dave and Byron have kept their word and trained away from the pitch to allow it time to recover, and the training pitch has now been cut and is being looked after. All of that helps the team perform on a good surface - and we're seeing the results. Another free couple of weeks until we play Weymouth and even the worst patches may have recovered.

I fancy a point or three down at Swindon on the 2nd.
