Vase: Redhill 2-5 Colliers Wood Utd

Good game, CWU were 4-0 up after about 30 minutes mainly due to Redhill's defence going AWOL. Often with a score like 1-4 at HT, the second half is a let down, but it was still very watchable. CWU striker needlessly sent off for violent conduct late on after reacting to a challenge, which lead to the inevitable handbags being thrown in by all and sundry! He didn't seem too fussed about it afterwards mind you!

Well he did score a hat trick!

Good win for us yesterday going behind twice against the run of play - we never stopped trying to play football and were rewarded - after going 2-1 down in the second half , in the space of 2 minutes Ricky hodgson with a screamer from 35 yards of the cross bar and in. Then Lammas new signing Matt Baker hit the bar from a free kick and young jack ball put in the rebound !!! Great win after a difficult few weeks !! Lovely pitch over there !!!

Egham Town 4 Dorking 1 ht 2-0. Luke Muldowney 1-0, John Pomroy birthday boy (29, according to his mum) hat trick. Toby Fitzgibbons 30 yard belter made it 3-1. We were awful on the whole, wasting chances and fannying about too much. Do that at CWU on Weds and we will be out of the League Cup at the first hurdle. Dorking keeper made some decent saves.

Dorking's players and management may have felt it wasnt to be their day up at Egham Town's Runnymede Stadium on Saturday when the squad endured a nightmare journey to the stadium due to problems on the M25 resulting in a much curtailed warm up, and at the end of the 90 minutes that feeling was probably confirmed after a stirring fightback in the second period eventually counted for nothing, Egham running out somewhat flattering 4-1 winners.

Manager Pete Buckland is starting to see some of his walking wounded from the squad return and this coming weekend, Dorking are likely to be a fuller strength for a game which sees an immediate rematch against Egham Town, last Saturday's game having been hastily arranged at the request of the league as both sides had no FA Vase fixture. A behind closed doors friendly has been organised for midweek by the management to assess the fitness of the returning players.

Dorking's late arrival had led to a request to delay the kick off for 15 minutes, but the match referee declined the approach and sure enough Dorking started the match slowly, Egham's ex Chertsey Town experienced striker John Pomroy and Luke Muldowney putting the home side 2-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes.

Dorking were struggling to find their feet, but gradually the side settled down, half time giving Buckland further time to reorganise the side.

Chicks started much more strongly in the second period, but it was Egham again who struck next, seemingly putting the game beyond Dorking in the 50th minute. Good spirit though was evident in the side, and Dorking's heads did not drop. Dorking were given the lift they needed on 68 minutes when Dorking's big no 9 Toby Fitzgibbon hit what may well be Dorking's goal of the season, Fitzgibbon hitting a beauty of a shot from 30 yards to make it 3-1

Suddenly Dorking were right back in the game and sensed an unlikely come back, especially after the injection of fresh legs in the form of subs Dave Thompson, Martin Waldren and Harry Maneh. It looked to have got even better for Dorking 15 minutes from time when Dorking looked to have scored a perfectly good goal, only for the assistant referee to draw the referee's attention to an alleged foul in the box after the referee seemed to have given the goal.

At 3-2 it would have been a different game and Dorking may well have pushed on to get something from the game, especially when Luke Reid and Julian Van Gelder hit the woodwork soon after the disallowed effort, but as it happened Egham rubbed salt into the Dorking wounds by scoring a 4th goal, John Pomroy claiming his hattrick with 2 minutes remaining

All in all, Dorking will feel hard done by by this scoreline, a slow start costing Chicks in the end as Dorking very much had the better of the final 30 minutes of the match, something manager Pete Buckland will be looking to see carry on when Dorking face their re-match versus Egham this weekend, kick off 3pm at Meadowbank. Once more this season children will be admitted to the game for free when accompanied by a paying adult.

DORKING TEAM:- John McBride: David Suchy: Jon Tyler (Capt): James Campbell: Dan Evans: David McCann: Tyrone Oliver: Julian Van Gelder: Toby Fitzgibbon: Dean Cox: Luke Reid.

SUBSTITUTES:- David Thompson (Used); Martin Waldren (Used): Leif Borgust: (Unused): Gavin Jeeves (Unused): Harry Maneh (Used).

Meanwhile Dorking's U18s fought out a close 1-1 draw in their Southern Midweek Floodlit league game against Oakwood, a good preparation for the FA Youth Cup match on Monday at Worthing FC.

South Park 0-1 Guildford City

First half fairly even Guildford with more possesion but Park created the better chances. Second half Park missed a string of good chances including 3 one on ones which you cant do or your get punished and we did when a Guildford sub scored with his first touch from close range. Nice to know we more than held are own against another Prem side but out of another cup and 3 games without a goal. :wall:

London APSA 2-1 Sandhurst (aet)

Poor performance but still thought we should have won the game, no-one to blame but ourselves. Decided not to post over the weekend as I was too angry but to be honest I don't feel much better this morning!

For the 2nd year running we've had a good start in the league but have crashed out of both FA competitions at the first hurdle. Just can't understand it.....oh well it's not like we need the prize money!
