journey Sandhurst have to make on Saturday for their FA Vase match. Away to London APSA can't get much worse at this stage of the Vase. London E13 - nice! - even the long way round the M25 has potential problems in the Dartford area. Got me thinking what was the worst journey I ever made to play football. Dulwich Hamlet away on a Thursday night before

 

Good Friday is up there - got back in the changing room after being drubbed to find some toe-rag had rifled players pockets.

Quiet ride home in the mini-bus though

Too right GF.....was just thinking the same myself yesterday........after our FA Cup draw this year away at Deal Town on the Kent coast (and Erith away last year) I think someone at the FA has got it in for us!!

Went to Workington on a Monday night to watch Brentford once!!!

 

Worst as a player was a midweek to Bicester Town. (and lost 0-5)!

Away to King's Lynn on a Tuesday night. Got beat 5-1 and the bus broke down on the way home. Got home at 5am after leaving at 3pm.

I had a Canvey Island away on a Thursday night before Easter Friday !!! - we won 2-0 but I was on the bench getting splinters.

 

Still had a laugh when the manager's car broke down and he got done when the old bill pulled up because he had no tax lol (we were on a good old coach in them Ryman days)

Fizzer sometimes easier getting train to that part of east london. Can only be a 2hour journey from sandhurst I think Plaistow is there closest station. Not ideal but nor's sitting on the M25 and roadworks round near there are a nightmare.

Forgot about them. Two years running we were scheduled to play them new years day and both times the game was called off as we arrived at our meet point. Of course meant a Tuesday night to IOW but it wasn't actually that bad.

For Egham almost any trip in our one sad season in the Southern League, the worst of which was to Paulton Rovers in December for a match that was postponed 15 minutes before kick off! We won when it was restaged; we won 6 games all season, two away, and I missed both. In the Vase our worst trip was to Fakenham, when the referee decided to play on until the home side scored the winner, in the 97th minute. We lost 2-3. At least it was on a Saturday.
