Tuesday Scores

Molesey 3 - South Park 0

MOLLY11, AFTER RECENT SUCCESSES AGAINST HIGHER OPPOSITION ESPECIALLY AGAINST CRAY ON SUNDAY LOSING IN LAST MINUTE, AND AFTER BEATING HORSHAM YMCA, CHESS & HOOK, HOW DID YOU FIND CCL PREMIER OPPOSITION IN MOLESEY WAS THE 3-0 SCORELINE A FAIR RESULT ? DO YOU THINK THAT SOUTH PARK HAVE A GOOD SHOUT TO GET PROMOTION ? IF SO, DO YOU THINK YOUR TEAM WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE CCL OR WOULD HAVE TO IMPROVE IN CERTAIN AREAS ?

Posted 2nd August-

"I follow Woking but only for home matches. I live in Woking so sometimes catch Knaphill, Westfield, Chobham and Sheerwater.

Seen loads of pre season friendlies, mainly Westfield and Knaphill. Will either of these teams win the league as suggested on this site? I don't think so.

There is something missing in Knaphills' play. They huff and puff and never seem that convincing, maybe they are in the habit of winning and getting results. I saw them play Chobham,Sheerwater and Cobham at the end of last season and have to say 'lucky' comes to mind in every game." Posted 2nd August.

It's a bit early to say but maybe I'm right!

Wasn't there. We lost .Extrapolating from the report on our website the game ended 9 v 10 in Guildfords factor so the game turned on the fact we were 1 -0 up against 10 men but couldn't hold the man advantage, which quickly became a disadvantage. Also I phoned our chairman and he said Guildford were a good side.

That's about all I can help you with .

HI NICE GUY, first of all scoreline was a fair result, but we made 7 changes giving are young keeper his debut and played very well apart from letting in a goal straight from a corner. Not taking anything away from Molesey who kept the ball better and were sharper all over the pitch. As for promotion, if you dont think you can get promotion you shouldnt be playing the game!! But as we know the league is a very tough one to get out of. IMO if promoted we would need to improve our squad, not too much as most have played at Prem level anyhow. Hope this answered all of your questions, come down on Saturday find out for yourself as we have inform Guildford City in the Vase only £4 Adults, £2 SC, £1 U16's and im sure there will be goals.

Hi Molly, hope your well.

Just to say well done to South Park for what they have achieved already but still lots to play for.

I know, and have seen a lot of there players and they would hold there own in the Premiere with the squad they have already.

Best of luck against Guildford.

To be fair to everyone, both sides had changes for Tuesday night and that made perfect sense bearing in mind the forthcoming Vase games, plus the opportunity to look at players or give a few a run out. The result was about right on the night but from what I saw, and knowing enough about certain players not playing, South Park certainly are a good outfit and did look especially potent going forward. The game itself was decent and it seems that the fans watching from both sides enjoyed the game, so all in all it was a useful excercise for both teams.

I do not know enough about Division 1 to know if they have what it takes to win it, as often the requirements in one league differ to those in another, but they are a good bunch of people and they would certainly be a welcome adition to the Premier if they do get there. Good luck Saturday - shame it's against another CCL side though, as this again means the league will be losing a representative.

Good morning all

Im not here to slate them just a review of what i have seen.....

Ive watched knaphill this season a few times and even as recent as at the weekend and last night, i feel there half the side they were last season , they have 4-5 v good players in there keeper, right back, brunty, tank and baker

I think the lads that have come down from the higher standard have let them selves down they should have adapted and shone very easily this year........( will they still be around when the club isnt where it should be)

I also feel that ian savage would benifit now more from the sidelines he has struggled v badly and is not as mobile as he once was but a great person to have around the club......

Neway good luck to them i hope they do get up the league fast and get one of the top three spots

I heard frimley rested 5/6 players last tuesday night against Knaphill as they have a vase game saturday ? did knaphill rest players ?

We were missing 4 or 5 regular first team players either due to injury away or rested,.thought a couple of the youth team lads did well.

Pitch was best i have ever seen it at Frimley!

Yes rested, hes been struggling with a groin injury. That was the other keepers first game im lead to believe. The reserve goalie had the right hump, which is granted i suppose. I'm sure ruggs wont stay there too long if he's not number 1.

Matty rejoined FG from Baggy Lea following a properly actioned 7-day approach from Scotty Tarr. He turned down the massive counter-offer from Baggies as he's never played on a decent pitch at FG before wink.gif
