Tuesday Scores

Recommended Posts

Chertsey made 5 changes to the team that played at Andover.

The bench was:

Bradshaw - no 1 gk

Francis - Captain

Treacher - first choice left back

Rouco - played every other game in midfield this year

Papali

Papali/Rouco came on for the last 20 minutes.

Treacher for 15 minutes.

I believe in the first half Sandhurst had the better of the game and to agree with fizzer they wanted it more.

2nd half, especially last 25 minutes, Chertsey had so many chances and really should have taken the game to extra time.

i personally think its insulting to play a weakened team. But maybe i am wrong.

still would have thought that Chertsy would have won last night. Have seen Sandhurst play a couple of times this season and find them to be a team with a few good players, but they moan an awful lot and that is no suprise as it comes from members of thier management. That said they deserved the win although Chertsey could have scored a couple in the last 20

Its a tough one Cherstey Fan. And no right or wrong either way in my opinion.

Some managers will use certain cup competitions to give players much needed minutes under their belt whilst others will remain the same whatever.

I think it can depend on circumstance at the time. This time of the year because we are only 7/8 games in every team has unhappy players because there not playing

and this competition can be an opportunity to keep the camp happy and give players an opportunity to impress and hopefully win at the same time.

However if you had the Vase 1/4 final this Saturday but the leafgue cup 1/4 final on the Tuesday what would you do ?

Personally i would play my full side if the circumstances were right as i believe you don't win much if anything as a player and a manger and the cup is a good opportunnity for success.

Ask Cove and JJ if the cup win felt good ?

I think the team who wins the league will not lose more than 5 games, and maybe 6 - 8 draws. From what I have seen of the teams that Bedfont Sports have played, Worcester Park will be right up there along with Lammas, Farnham and Hartley Wintney.... If Knaphill are going to challenge then they will really need to start winning on Saturday, I played against them last season in a friendly for Chertsey Town and I was really impressed with them, they just need a little booster and they will be fine....

Agree Chertsey probably should have scored in last 20 mins when they put us under a fair bit of pressure. (we also could have scored another 1 or 2 on the break in that time though)

Agree we deserved the win.

Disagree about the moaning management obviously (being the manager myself) but will forgive you as you clearly don't know our management team very well.

Still celebrating as we speak mate, just ask the players in our dressing room. They've stopped celebrating (as most of them are now at Camberley....yawn!!) but i still tell the new players of my goal and man of the match award!

Should really have retired after that!

The cup win did feel good and was a great way to end an up and down season on and off the pitch for cove.! Only 1 team per season can win the league cup. Cove's name has been etched in history and i have a senior cup winners medal.

We could have finished 3rd or 4th but a cup win felt much better!! It also put certain players on the map too (Foster, Blount, Duff, Jeffers)

Yes it has been a terrible start - It is a good setup at Knaphill starting from the chairman down to the players its just not coming together at the moment - we need to get a good win under our belts and hopefully that will spark some confidence in the team. Teams will lose more games this year than any other because of the standard of the league - i think teams could lose 10 games this season and still get promoted!

Dont feel there needs to be a change in management - if you have seen our games this season there have been a games where we have played good football ,created lots of chances and been the better side and not come away with the points. We have had some bad performance too but every team does. Its just not coming together in front of goal - i dont think the manager can influence the players ability to finish or the decision making of the players once they are on the pitch - yes you can train them but how much can you learn doing 3 hours per week training - only thing a manager can do is bring in new faces to score goals which will cost money.

Not that's ever been a problem at Knaphill eh Brunty !

Wouldnt know NLN - im not getting paid!

thats ok - like everyone else then:grin:
