Great performance tonight against a slightly disapointing Chesham side. The whole side worked their socks off! My man of the match has to be Justin Clayton who was simply awesome at the back!

Chesham played a very nice brand of football but rarely troubled us up front and our defence was rock solid.

We had one shot (well 2 but they came in the space of 2 seconds resulting in the goal) in the entire game and resorted to hoofball on many occasions which was a shame. We won't win many friends / new supporters with that brand of football.

That said, brilliant win and still a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

I know the the weather was poor leading up to the game last night but what a poor turnout! With Chesham second in the league i was expecting over 200 again.

I thought we adapted our game well last night. At times we may have been direct but only to get our wingers in to play quicker. Chesham won five out of first six games and at times we have to adapt our play to win the game. At brackley we played the ball on the deck our passing crisp and we win the game. Against chesham we probably needed to be a little more direct to upset their style of play that has resulted in their fine start to the season. Tactics worked and showed the flexibility of the squad that mudgey is building. Last night really was an outstanding victory. Six points from last two games against the pre season league favourites and one of the form teams in the league. We really don't have anything to be scared of in this division. The team is starting to gel very nicely. More of the same for me!!

I think it’s a slightly harsh to say we resorted to hoofball, yes at times the ball was cleared long by our defenders but I prefer that to trying to be clever and getting caught out. I thought at times we knocked the ball about with confidence too. I would say we have a excellent balance of skill and brawn in the team at the moment.

Anyway I don't care what style of football we are playing as long as everyone is giving 100%. The effort the players and management are putting into the performances is there to see, it really is a joy to what this team develop.

Again it was a great all round performance, you couldn't fault any of our players. Clayton & Woozley are forming some partnership at the back, they are like a wall at the moment.

As a measure of how far we have come there was supporters in the bar after the game talking (whisper it quietly) about the play offs! What a turnaround from the summer when some were worrying we might end up being the Bracknell of our division.

Fair play to Chesham I thought they were pretty good, it was a genuinely good game. I'm sure they will be pushing for the plays offs........too!

This game was very similar to the game against Grays on Saturday, two decent teams playing decent football, only we got the fgoal this time. At times we cancelled each other out but on the whole we look composed and settled which is incredible considering how long the team has been together. Chenns didn't really get much of the ball but look what happened when he did get a chance, we scored.

I think chesham came here expecting the 3 points and a comfortable victory, possibly as did Brackley, but both of those teams tried to play football and that allowed us to do the same and that hepled us. The improving Stag Meadow surface is only going to benefit our style of play but teams are going to take notice of us now.

Saturday will be a huge test, they are a decent team and they will come to us having seen us beat the team second in the table. The players will have to keep their feet on the ground as will the fans. A draw saturday would not be a bad result.

i think Mudge & Byron deserve serious praise for putting together a squad of this strength on a reduced budget in such a short space of time.

Hi Fuzzy, I'm really not looking to take anything away from a great performance in the circumstances but although we had our moments knocking it around (ole, ole, ole!) I lost count of the number of huge punts up field to absolutely no-one but their defenders / 'keeper.

The only difference between us and the opponents were we hoofed the ball upfield when under pressure whereas they hoofed the ball right out of the ground!

You are not going to get 90 minutes of champagne football at this level. Add to this the newness of the team and the quality of opposition sometimes I feel it was a case of players not knowing what else to do but get rid of it. We DID however pass the ball around well in spells and gave a good indication of things to come. We defended well and at times played the ball out of defence, which was clearly more effective. but if we don't have shape at the time we have the ball we need to get rid. The goal against Grays came due to piddling around with the ball in defence, we gave it away and they took their chance and that was that. Look at the positives, we are not a long ball team, that is evident for the use of wingers and the way the midfield try to get he ball out to them. We also use the long ball, with fiston winning most things in the air and Chenns running onto it why not?

Chesham were a good side and we beat them,by playing some decent football and defending very well.

Also worth noting that the conditions were not good, it was quite windy out there by all accounts and the pitch still looked a little slow (long grass?). I would also say that Delroy's distribution is not good. He is a fanatstic shot stopper, getting much better at crosses but his decisions for distribution often confuse me.

Great celebration for the goal though, the team seemed really pleased and that has got to be a good thing.

One last thing, chesham message board. They reckon they dominated the game, dominated midfield but just couldn't break down our defence. Not sure I agree that they dominated the game, near the end they pushed on to get the equaliser and applied some pressure but i would have said an even game.

We all know 4-5-1 may not be the most exciting formation, but it is working and it was always about staying up this year. As the team evolve I believe we will see more polished performances, but 3 points against the team second in the league, I don't care how we get them!!!!

I know I wasn't there for the game, I was in lands far away but 160 for a Tuesday night game isn't that bad. Last season for a Tuesday night with bad weather we would be around the 100 / 110 mark. The season before that less than 100.

To be fair Scotty the Stag and the kids go free promotion seems to be attracting more youngsters through the gate especially for Saturday games. However parents are a lot less likely to take their kids down stag meadow on a school night.

Given the fact it was a poor night weather wise and the Champions league was on the box I thought the crowd was just about acceptable. This time last season I reckon the we would have struggled to have got 100 in the same circumstances.
