Just wanted to say that it was a much improved performance today and I felt that we were worth three points rather than one. Today certainly showed that we can mix it at this level. Vinny John being back certainly helped. Quick mention for Keeling and the new boy Sterling, awesome!

The whole team i felt played really well with great confidence and showed that they are a team.

 

Special Mentions to Jude Sterling who i thought was fantastic he looks a real good player and should steady up the back !

 

I thought Jamie Southon and John Keeling again proved what top quality players they are.

 

Great to see Vinnie Back, how about his first goal this season on Monday.

Hey Urchino! I think I saw you today in the bar. I was going to say hello but you were with some other people and didn't like to interrupt.

 

Anyway well done today Hornchurch! Thought you played really well especially in the first half. Jon Keeling had a bit of a stormer!!

Well yeah...we played with more confidence and conviction but need to score when we get near target...not blast them over the top like Westy!!!

I reckoned we might have been in for a thrashing on evidence of our last two matches....but footie is footie!!!

Sorry about that! I was hoping LMU was going to stay after the game so I could say hello to everyone but she had to rush off. I waas in the bar after the game having a quick beer and checking out the results but decided to go.

Definitely will say hello next time I'm down. Not sure when that will be but could be sooner rather than later if I get banned from Canvey!!

Excellent game and although despite feeling we deserved all three points, I am more than happy with the one we took out of the game. For me, what was more important than the result, was the performance. The team played much, much better than it did on Tuesday. Apart from a couple of slips at the back, one needless one that lead to the goal, we looked solid. A couple of players need special mention, Marsden, who was solid, Southon, who battled throughout, but the biggest praise goes to Jude Sterling. Undoubtedly, man of the man, he was superb, very well done fella!

 

Great atmosphere over there yesterday, nice bunch of fans as well. Heard quite a few of their fans saying that they thought we should have won and we looked a decent side that would be challenging for honours this season.
