Brilliant Day !!!!!!

When I awoke this morning to dull overcast skies,I could never of imagined the great day that was in store for me.With train times sorted I was off to Cobham F.C to watch their F.A.Cup encounter against Chipstead.Trains on time which for a Saturday is a miracle,I reached my destination at 12.44pm,so decided to have a leisurely stroll down into Cobham High Street, where at the Estate Agents I was offered a Free glass of Orange, and asked would I like to buy a Duck, for the Duck Race,I duly parted with my £1,and got no.5986.The whole High St. was emblazoned in Union Jacks,Families sitting outside Hostelries eating and drinking to hearts content,I had a couple of beers Reasonably priced at £2.70p,and a chat with some locals who informed me it was Cobham Heritage Day. I then went down to the Leg of Mutton Field, and before entering the ground looked around a Vintage Car Display. On arrival at the ground was met by Dan Whitby we had a chat about Football things and his future, but being the big day in Cobham's year so far,he excused himself as he had things to organise. He then emerged with Beach Balls,Balloons,a Foxes mask and hands and 3 VUVUZELAS,The DISCO Music was blaring,a real party atmosphere, the intro for the players was superb. Then for a whole 90 mins around 20 supporters led by Y.H.W. gave there all for the Cobham cause, they were joined by a Black Labrador who believe it or not kept in tune Barking too the Great Escape theme tune, alas it was too no avail, but they applauded both teams of the pitch, and were applauded back by their own team. They were a credit to Cobham F.C. AND THE GAME BY BOTH TEAMS WAS PLAYED IN A GREAT SPIRIT.But my day was not over as I left Leg of Mutton field up by the Church they were selling PIMMS NO.1 by the glass £2.50p,a large glass at that.I got chatting as I do about the great Family atmosphere on show, and the Gentleman said have 1 on the house, anyway 2 drinks later I bode him goodbye, but hang on how did me DUCK get on,back to the Estate agents,I was not lucky but they sold 6500 ducks @ £1 a throw,£6500,1 prize £250,profit £6250,Smudge is forgetting about Gold Membership and going to buy some plastic Ducks as £5 IS A LOT,BUT £1 is not.Smudge could of been dreaming, but when he arrived back in hometown Croydon reality struck home.Shame Cobham did not win,but they tried their best, and were a credit to the C.C.L.

Kroons anyone who has met me will know I have to be dragged away from the bar after a game, ask my best mate Trenty. But alas Smudge likes value for money, and after purchasing 1 can of Fosters from the Club Bar that cost £3,once bitten twice shy.6 CANS FOR £5 AT TESCO,£18 at Cobham,I am in the wrong game, the only downside of the day.OH and going back to Croydon.

Smudge, so glad you enjoyed your day. Your write up has made everyone who was connected to the clubs day. From the tea lady, to the fans, to the players we had a great day and so happy you were there to share it with us. Shame about the result but it was a great day out. We wanted to have a good time and we did. Have to agree with Kroons your write up is brilliant and should be sent to the local paper. Hope to see you again soon.
