Billericay 1 Tilbury 0.

A poor performance got worse when Flanagan punched a player for a straight red. We improved with 10 men but took the lead with a somewhat lucky goal straight from a corner by Micah Hyde. Tilbury then suffered a straight red to even things up. Young Martin came on near the end and was involved in a few chances but he looked promising. Matt Hall went off injured in the first half but Harrison Chatting came on and had a great game. Tom Bolarinwa is a good addition but seemed to lack the confidence to charge at their defence using his speed,he kept checking back or centering without checking we had men in the penalty area( usually we did not). Danny Charge was not afraid to shoot but each time he hit it over the bar. To sum up,£1500 in the kitty, and roll on the next round.

We created plenty of chances towards the end to kill the game off but a win is good, onto the next round.

Really disappointed by the lack of professionalism shown by Adam Flanagan. Totally unnecessary and we can do without the 3 game suspension. Hope the manager gives him a good fine.

We have some good pacy players and I think a very good squad. If we can get a regular goal scorer it should really be a real chance to make the play off this year. Junior and Tom looked really good and I am increasingly impressed with Collis. A solid defence with an exciting midfield and pacy wingers, but who is going to put the final ball in the net? We need a big man up front. Tilbury fans were amusing and made a lot of noise for about 16 of them! When will we hear who we have in the next round?

I disagree that it was a poor performance overall. I thought for the first 20/25 minutes we were disappointing. It was unfortunate to see Hall get injured but the inspired substitution of Chatting changed the game for me. Easily his best performance in a Blue shirt. The challenge for H is to do it consistently and from the start if and when he gets the opportunity.

I thought we were all over them from that point on and if Chargey had had his scoring boots on we would have won 4 or 5. Not too sure what Flanners was thinking of...now that was poor from an experienced footballer. I expect he'll get told off!! I agree that young Martin looked lively when he came on, hopefully he can learn his trade with us and become a good player.

I believe it's £3k we scoop for winning this game which is very welcome. Equally welcome would be a home draw in the next round.

Good clean sheet. Well done lads. Come on you Blues!!!

A few surprising results from the Cup yesterday, Sutton and Hastings to name but two. Hopefully we will get home draws all the way through and get in to the first round proper.

We made it in to the NLP a few times this week for a change especially with our bust up with Crawley over the loss of Jones.

We also mad eit in because we had the greatest drop in gate for a Tuesday game! Unfortunately I was one of those that didn't make it to see Wealdstone, but I wasn't sitting in an armchair, I just didn't get back from work until 9.30pm! Gutted really. I think I must be getting the Billericay bug!

The scoreline suggest a close game but overall we looked for the most part comfortable , and it was ironic that we stepped up a gear when we down to 10 . Hmm, silly sending off , can only assume there had been some chat between the pair of them during the game but that is defo no excuse for what happened . Charge seemed intent on scoring but seemed to have a few rush of bloods . In my opinion the one in the first half when he elected to shoot rather than head it over the on rushing keeper was the most clearcut , but we won the game and that is all the statistics will say . Dont often see goals straight from a corner and lets face it over the last few seasons that piece of luck would just never have happened , so is it turning in our favour ?!?

I am impressed with the players Craig has assembled blending in with the existing ones and there is far more bite to our midfield , but again our defence is proving once again to be key .

It was an enjoyable game and i have seen more chances created in the games so far to feel very optimistic . So keep it up !

Yes, the Tilbury "fans" were there for a good giggle , and for those of you not in their vicinity they could hardly string two words together as they were that drunk ! fair play to them as from the look of them first reactions were uhh ohhh :) But lets face it we have errr.... been to a few places in the past when we have been somewhat tiddly before :) Nice of them (or the one who could speak, must have been the driver !!!) to wish us well in the next round .

So, to sum up we won ! - the club are in the next round - and the club have gained a valuable £3000 .

Well done All !

Not the prettiest of games but a win is a win, although we should have scored a hatfull by the end.

Not complaining though it's always good to win in the cup and another home draw is good news.

Can someone tell me why their player was red carded, I think I blinked when it happaened.

Thanks.

Having spent most of the game (unsuccessfully) trying out get a reaction from Wildy by calling him every name under the sun, he thought he may succeed if he stamped on him.
