right,just got home from the match,i live in basildon.ok match,enfield had most of the game and bowers tactics were very strange.anyway the main talking point today must be the matchday programme,how do northwood recieve all the plaudits when bowers produce far and away the best programme in the southern half of the country,its a truly brilliant read,i laughed,i cried,iwondered how they could produce such a quality publiciation for just a quid.why dont you get a copy, read it behind closed doors and have a good sh*t while doing so.

Good to see that we have now won our first league game since May!!

 

On a more positive note. I was impressed with the performance, much better than last week, and the quality of our substitute 'Mr Orange boots'. Sorry, but I cannot remember his name.

Town went out there and played as all townies know they can.

 

Bowers were outclassed. Bradley Brotherton scored again. Simon Miller set up a good goal for Nashie to finish. All in all not the defensive sieve of the pre-season friendlies was laid to rest. The defence was more settled and good to see David Allen doing some nice defending again whilst still going forward in the earlier part of the game.

 

A pitch with some grass helped!

 

Can we beat Romford on Tuesday? - yep but only if we continue with all the good things from Saturday.

A good display in patches....we seem capable of raising our game for short spells ,but can't seem to keep that level going over 90 mins.

 

I won't be convinced we have turned the corner until we beat one of the title contenders(hopfully Romford on tuesday).

 

I'm still not convinced about 5 at the back,at this level...To often we seem to be struggling for numbers in midfield and upfront,whilst we have 3 cental defenders marking one forward..... i'm not convinced Baldwin is a wing-back,If i was playing him on the left of defence,it would be in a back four.....The wing-back system only really works if Allen and Negus are in those positions.

 

A special mention to Brotherton and Negus,who both played very well yesturday.
