No Hope

Following his straight Red we shall have no Hope for a few games. Will this force the Management into a change of tactics ?

Saturdays game v Ilford was in my opinion poor and we played poorly but ground out a win - play ugly and get 3 points as they say.

Tonight v Thamesmead we again played poorly and lost to a very determined side who had a tactical awareness about them. Certainly the best team won on the night in my opinion.

However, as with the Thurrock match we seemed to lack any tactical awareness or have any "plan B" once things went wrong !

Unless he was injured, why take LP off for Rudi ? A like for like swop when we needed that extra midfield strength.

Why wait until 75 mins before putting a fresh forward on ?

Why not shake things up at half time after a lackluster first 45 ?

If tonight showed us anything surely it was that we NEED a centre forward.

One of those nights, ....yep maybe, .....but for me a lack of tactical change to give us any advantage.

Okay ..............now wait for the comebacks........

Good Luck in the Cup Saturday.

Disagree with your 'ugly' analysis of the Ilford game. That was a comfortable 1-0 in the end if ever there was one and a 2 or 3-0 scoreline would not have flattered us given our 2nd half dominance. We were knocking it about for fun in that 2nd half and I myself enjoyed it, on somewhat of a bobbly pitch after all.

Yes the 1st half was a much tighter affair and granted they had a couple of very good chances, but their tiredness showed 2nd half given how hard they had to work to keep in touch with us in the 1st.

I would only start to become concerned if we were being outclassed by sides or being beaten by weak opposition, but for me in the two so-called slip ups so far this season this has not been the case and we have been in with a shout of getting something from both of them pretty much up to the final whistle.

Not denying that some of your points are worth mentioning, mainly regarding a 'Plan B' so to speak at the moment, but I would rather focus on the positives and not question tactics/subs at this stage as I have faith in Steve to find the right formula in the tougher matches in the long run.

PS. Ref wasn't very good tonight.
