Chertsey 1.2 chessington

Chertsey average again, o regan kept quiet which ment Chertsey were! All credit to chessington and hook came with a game plan and it worked perfectly, late Baxter goal wasn't enough to grab a point for town.

Based on chances and possesion i thought Cherstey should have edged this game. However its all about putting the ball in the net.

Chertsey dominated the first 25 minutes and created a couple of good chances, however as the half went on Chessington got stronger.

The first goal was terrible defending from Chertsey but a good finish from the chess striker.

Second half was a similar story except Chessington snatched a fairly early goal and desptie Chertsey's possesion looked very comfortable.

They looked a lot stronger at the back then when we played them. (6-5)

After the second goal Chertsey looked lost for 20 minutes and although they had constant possesion they had no way around the chessington high back line

who must have caught them offside 15 times. The introduction of the 3 chertsey subs seemed to pick them up and you could feel a goal coming however within

10 minutes both papali and baxter missed two of the worst sitters you will see all season !

This was then followed by Baxters goal and ten minutes of "good old fasioned time wasting by Chessington Hook to see the game out (not a critisism i might add)

All in all i thought Chessington got their tactics spot on and kept Oregan quite for long spells (something you have got to do or he will punish you)

Cherstey are stiil a top side but i felt they played a bit more direct than before and with out the physical presence they had last year it did not really suit them. Thought it suited Chessington more ? (just my opinion)

I think this could be one of the most open seasons in the CCP for a long time.

Both side are strong and will be up there in April. Just hope were with them ?

chessy boy dont take offence, people giving chertsey to win. havent looked at past threads, but i dont think many people have gone against them all season. good result. now keep your fingers crossed that the famous chessington, shoot yourself in the foot syndrome. does not happen. you have had this group of talanted players before. and i think the money ran out. agree you had best tactics, think you had a bit more desire.coffee%20%282%29.gif

? Personnally i am happy for no one to look at us and think we will win, i try not to concern myself with other clubs and what they are doing or what their aspirations are so please everyone feel free to keep tipping us to lose!!, As for sustaining ourselves i do think that we are in a far far better position than ever before, the group are happy and enjoying life at the club its a good place to be at the moment. Great result last night and missing two players that would be considered starters. Yes we took a battering for long spells and rode our luck a touch but its no good being on top and not scoring Chertsey were made to pay for that.

On a sour note im glad Chertsey did not score at the end after refusing to give the ball back when our keeper put it out of play as he was concerned about a head injury to one of our players laying in the six yard box, i know letter of the law states that the ref should stop the play but the lad went back to the player spoke to him and didnt get a response so he thought he may be seriously hurt and threw the ball out level with his six yard line. We thought we must surely get the ball back but the Chertsey bench didnt and even instructed a player to put the ball down and wait for a long thrower to get there, if a goal had come from that i would not have been happy. Yes we had players down through the last 20 mins of the game but we did play 120 mins on saturday and we played a good 6 or 7 mins over. Maybe im just in a minority but surely there is still space in the game to be sporting ?. Still im determined to enjoy the result and not let anything spoil it for me. Tough game on the horizon v Hanworth villa so we wont be getting carried away. Thought the ref did well last night too Chertsey is a difficult place to be in the middle or as an assistant and he called it straight down the middle, well done that man.

Great game at Ash it had everything and I must say what a vastly improved Ash team to the one I watched a couple of weeks ago, back is the old fighting spirit and passion that has been missing of late,Everyone was moaning about the Ref but i think he did what he had to do and didn't shirk from anything, however the penalty decision right at the end was a bit dodgey, to me it looked like the baggy lea lad got his shot away and when he realised it was going wide he collided with the Ash keeper,Fish (the Ash keeper) was sent off and Stuart Woodhouse (Bunter) took over in goal to face the penalty, Blason stepped up to take the pen and you could literally see his bumhole twitching through his shorts, he takes the pen and Bunter gets a hand on it and it looks like he is gonna save it but alas it goes in and Ash have to settle for a point,Baggy lea had a better team on the sidelines than actually played hope they didn't take this game lightly cos in this league anyone can beat anyones best team let alone an understrength one.

Molesey 5 - Croydon 1. Great result to celebrate Sam Lampards 300th game for the Moles.:brille008:

PURPLETRAM NO GOOD TONIGHT THEN ?

ng, i wasn't there last night, and i haven't heard anything yet about the game from our perspective, but it certainly doesn't sound too good. this season is going to be a struggle for us.

Purple - to be fair, the opening exchanges were slightly more in your favour and you caused us problems. The 4-3-3 system put us under pressure - not too sure if Shelton enjoyed the wide role! - and you hit the bar at 0-0, so it could all have been different had that gone in. We scored from nothing with a decent long range free kick that your keeper may feel he should have done a bit better with, then got a penalty that was correctly given to go 2-0 up. Up to half time we were more comfortable but, as I told the lads at half time, you certainly looked like you had a goal in you and that was the case quite early on in the second half for 2-1. For a while we were rocked by this but regained the 2 goal cushion with a great finish out of nothing and it then set us up for a really good spell of football and our lads started to enjoy the evening. When Sam Lampard got the goal everyone wanted him to get you knew it was going to be our night and we finished the game off in style. You seem to have some decent lads in your squad, so maybe it will turn. This time last year (9th September) you beat us 3-2 at your place and we went second bottom and things looked grim. A few changes to personnel, nothing major, and a bit of belief were enough to help turn things round. Problem is, the league is now much tougher and you will get no easy ones, so nothing is guaranteed. Anyway, that's a brief and, hopefully honest view of proceedings. Next stop - Ash!

Anyone have a list of all the goal scorers? Times would be useful too.

Badhot Lea: James Blason (2 penalties) and Liam Roberts.

Ash Utd: Karl Dallaway (1st and 3rd) and Stuart Woodhouse (i think) with the penalty.

Thanks johnno. I did look for you at half time to say hello, but didn't see you so you had a lucky escape!. Saw duncs, but he seemed to have a big entourage with him so didn't disturb!

Chertsey 1.2 chessington

I could not understand why only the 5 or 6 extra minutes were given for stoppages. Surely the Chessington No 3 had 2 X three minutes sessions on his back for cramp, then there was the other full back and golie injury which must have taken out another two minutes, plus six substitutions plus all the other slow down tactics that understandably went on. From a neutrals point of view, it was a shame the game fell apart to these disruptions as there looked like a good crescendo was bulding up after Chertsey scored there goal. instead we were short changed with more time spent waiting for this that and another instead of football being played. I doubt if we saw more that 25 - 30 minutes of fottball in the second half.

I will try again.

I did not understandy why only 5 or 6 minutes were added to th egame. Surey the Chess number three had 2 sessions of 3 mins each on his back, then the goalie/full back injury near the end of 2 mins, six subsitutions and heap of other niggling delays which seemed be let go by the ref. It was a shame the game fell to bits after Chertsey scored there goal because, from a neutrals point of view, it was boiling up nicely for a grand finale but we were short changed. I doubt that more than 25 - 30 minutes of football was actually played in the second half.

Guessing its that old addage about things evening themselves out, we have conceeded two goals to chertsey over the last two seasons in added time that nobody could understand where it came from. One in about the 98th minute a penalty in a cup game at Chalky lane i remember being really dissapointed with that one there cant have been more than 3 mins stoppage in that game, i seem to remember another late late 95th minute winner in the league for Chertsey at chalky lane last season was it 4-3 ? So if things do even out i think you still owe us one !!!.

Hold on to your hats gentlemen!

To watch full screen, right click for 'watch on you tube' and select 720p for best quality. You tube hasn't compressed this one too much for a change!
