Bugger!! What can I say. A good competitive game but a very frustrating night with a somewhat under par performance from the Towners in all honesty. Fair play to Thamesmead they were a good outfit who worked hard to stop us playing and they never let us get any sort of grip on the game. Their backline was solid, albeit moany and mouthy and dealt easily with the long stuff when we were starved of room to knock it about. That said, they also seemed a decent footballing side and they can't be begrudged the victory having had two other gilt edged chances. A point a piece in my book would have been a fair result maybe on the overall balance of play?? For me Proths going off seemed to have a negative effect on us and proved somewhat of a turning point, as I thought we were gaining a bit of momentum prior to this.

 

Oh well, here's to looking to the Arlesley game and putting tonight's disappointment behind us. Still been a positive start to the season and it's a long one at that. Seen more than enough to believe that come next Spring this side will be occupying a playoff position.

 

Cue the moaners and would be managers who will never be happy......... ;-)
