I was actually going to stand for the local election in 2001 but in typical thorns fashion by the time I'd found out the details from the council I had two days to sort it out (but I was going on holiday that day)

For local elections anybody can stand wether affiliated to a party or not, all you need is 10 signitures from voters in your constituency and you're away - No fee either

For general you need £500 deposit and you get it back if you get 10% of the vote (It was £100 but a certain Iron Lady put it up)

 

In the next local elections shall we look to field a EFM candidate in every seat in St.Albans?

Imagine how much the council would sh*t themselves if EFM stood in every ward. Maybe Counciller McMillan will stand for us in London Colney, then we have 1 seat guarenteed!
