I see Bury town have finally signed up James scowcroft ex palace and Ipswich midfielder

could be a good signing for them as I don't think he is that old and may bring a few more fans through their gate who want to see an ex Ipswich favourite,shame more ex pros don't get into the non league game anymore,I guess they just have too much money nowadays

I'd say he weighs about 18 stone and cant hit a barn door - hence the reason he now plays centreback i think....

Tried to play for Orient last season.

We thought it was a good signing until he went on the pitch.

Alot of these ex pros who come down to non league are seriously unfit or are carrying an injury that means they can no longer play at professional level.

 

Sometimes it works out but more often than not the player ends up playing a few games for the club before moving elsewhere or packing up playing all together.

 

Saying that if it adds a few more to the gate then that's not such a bad thing.
