MFC vs Aveley

As the article suggests - this could be (should be) the game that breaks our duck in the wins column. Aveley, without the Manager (Rod Stringer) & main Striker (Martin Touhy) of last season, are not the force they were at the end of last term.

By the way - is Craig Cloke likely to be available for selection - does anyone know when he's scheduled to return to the side?

Ignore the England game its OUR local team we need to be watching, besides I'm sure the England game will be on in the bar at the same time. We need to be well & truly "up for this game" tonight, both players & supporters alike.

Time for the players to now "pay us back" for the Maidstone game & give us some of that exciting away form they seem to find to go with 3 points but at HOME & in front of HOME supporters.

Too many times we've been let down at home after a good efffort away so lets continue to turn up in numbers & not allow that to happen tonight by giving them every encouragement to do just that.

Are we up for it? We better had be! Its time our season started!

The horse "AM I BLUE" has won twice lately so I'll make a prediction this time... not 2-0 but 3-1 because:.

"led or close 2nd throughout,(1-0 up) stumbled well before 3rd (1-1,2nd half equaliser), not fluent 5th (penalty save 2nd half), drew clear approaching 2 out, easily (2 late goals to seal victory)

(mind you don't they normaly play in Blue too? However their away strip suggests they will be in "black & white" tonight.

Should have stuck with the 2-0 scoreline. In racing terms this is how I saw our play on the night:

"Started well but early mistakes, struggling after & unable to make an impression.Hit 2 fences very hard, stumbled & nearly went down both times, jockey did extremely well to stay in the saddle.

More errors & still under pressure until threequarters when began to make headway.Gradually got on top between the last two.Two great jumps over last two fences & then steadily drew clear".
