Solar panels

i am sure that someone within the club-or MHDC architects are ahead of me on this-but it did just occur to me whether there is an opportunity to install solar panels on the new tivoli road stand ;and generate enough power to sale back to the national grid and make a bit of a return for the club.

Someone obviously needs to do the cost/benefit.

Equally-IF there is a bit of movement on the changing room side as well -if and when that stand goes up,whether there is a similar opportunity. ?

Becoming ultra green (the blues go green) could just win some good publicity-further sponsorship/publicity opportunities; -maybe just maybe generate an income stream-and win brownie points with TDC ?

Because the feed in tariff is so generous, and guaranteed for I believe twenty five years, there are a number of companies springing up that will supply, fit, and maintain solar panels free of charge on condition that you sign away your rights to the income from the excess electricity. This is a great idea if you want to increase your green credentials and get some free power, but you cant afford the technology, the downside with these schemes are you lose out on a much needed income.

I would think it will soon be impossible to get planning permission for this type of project unless it contains some kind of green initiative, like solar panels, or even some kind of wind turbine system on floodlight pylons.

Whilst you would need planning consent-solar panels can be added at anytine--notwithstanding the fact that planning 9and probably design) has'nt even been sought yet for the changing room side.

(i wonder how 'talks' with potential hotelier development partners are proceeding ? )
