Full credit to camberley, after they scored the two set pieces they shut the Door and double locked it! The key to winning big games against Chertsey is keeping Tom oregan quiet and camberley for long periods of the game didn't even give him a sniff and the times he did get through no one was on the end of his final ball. Overall a dissapointing day for Chertsey but we were never going to win all 40games so this had to happen at some point! Chessington and hook Tuesday night!!!

I WAS AT THE GAME YESTERDAY CHERTSEY BOY AND TO BE HONEST I WAS A BIT DISAPPIONTED WITH THE GAME, QUITE BORING INFACT, IT SEEMED THAT BOTH SIDES WERE THERE NOT TO LOSE RATHER THAN WIN IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, (IE) GROUP GAMES IN THE WORLD CUP SPRINGS TO MIND !

2 SET PIECES, 2 HEADERS AND POOR MARKING SET CAMBERLEY ON THEIR WAY. CAMBERLEY WELL ORGANISED AND WERE DIFFICILT TO BREAK DOWN. IT WAS GOING TO EVENTUALLY HAPPEN, WHEN EVERY TEAM WILL KNOW WHAT AND HOW TO PLAY AGAINST CHERTSEY IF TEAMS DO THEIR HOMEWORK. STOP O'REGAN, STOP CHERTSEY SO CREDIT TO CAMBERLEY IN ACHIEVING THAT GOAL.

CHERTSEY BOY YOU NEED A PLAN 'B' !

FROM CHECKING THE CCL RECORDS, WINNING THE TITLE WILL ALLOW NO MORE THAN 4 LOSSES...........I COULD BE WRONG THO' !

A much better post from Chertsey through cb :)

Good on you fella. Youa re right never going to win all 40 and this was probably one of the away games you may have expected to lose. Spencer will have a plan worked out based on points and how many and by what point. Would be surprised if you are behind his expectations.

I still fully expect you to win the league by a considerable margin.

Agree yet again management and coaching will be the only reason Chertsey may not win league. Camberley defended well, sat back and kept danger man Regan reasonably quiet. No doubting Chertsey have the best squad in league but will come up against sides like they did yesterday who will be well organised and disciplined, and as Nice Guy says will need a plan B.

Quite a disappointing game football wise but decent burger and glad to see the Cambo old boys still moaning before, during and after a good team performance.

Hi Smudge ,

Yep realised as soon as I'd sent it that I was responding to what my old mate Lensmeister had posted. I thought it was you because you have done a number of threads about the atmospheres games are conducted in by both the participants and the observers.

It's interesting having watched a few games as a neutral recently to have seen the ref have a reasonable game and having everyone around me of all persuasions think they were terrible. It's an insight I'm trying to keep hold of this year when I watch games biased.

Ascot 3-0 Lammas

A great day for the club and people involved in it as Lammas made history by playing in the Vase for the first time ever and the result didnt reflect the game. We came up against an Ascot team top of the Hellenic and unbeaten, first half we had most of the ball and created more of the chances but the inform george baldock just couldnt score. Ascot had a few chances and were able to go 1 up with a scrappy goal and poor defending from us! Second half we came out stronger again testing the goalie on several occasions and also hitting the woodwork, ascot managed to wrap it up with 2 goals in the last 5 mins. A great game in front of a 250 crowd and a lovely pitch. Great day for the club and looking forward to next year.

I'm sure we will have a plan b, we have good coaches in the pattersons! Oh and Spencer! krooner park has always been a bogey ground for us so that's that one out of the way!, I feel to win the league we must beat the lesser teams home and away which we have struggled to do during the Spencer era! So let's just see where we are in 20 games time!

you will only win this league if you beat the lesser teams, the bettwer teams will all beat each other, nows the time to see what your players and the management team are all about,if it was myself I would not even worry about it just put it to bed and move on,Camberley are a decent side I should know when I went to Cove a lott of them came with me.

Egham v Epsom & Ewell

Another good game with many chances.

Excellent quality camera work, commendably fair editing, and confirmation that talking to the chairman while the game is in progress means I miss stuff, which can be fairly crucial when writing match reports!

Thanks tempestward. I try to give a fair reflection of the game when editing it down. Talking of the match report, it confirmed what I thought that it was Martin Randall on the bench! Had a spell at Wimbledon in the Dave Anderson days, divided opinion a bit but I always thought he was good player. Another good option up front for you.

any thoughts on your game, not heard much about either side yet.coffee%20%282%29.gif

No problem TF.

Hayes Gate 3 - 2 Farleigh Rovers.

Farleigh got to terms with Hayes Gates attacking style of play early on. On the back foot from HG wide men Farleigh defended well before counter attacking and having a couple of good chances to take the lead. A solo run from Rhod Davis took him into the box but was unable to get the shot away before defenders had recovered. A chance soon after hit the post from Sam Blowers. HG had their share of attacks mainly from their wide men but Farleigh full backs defended well. A long ball then caught out our centre halfs and HG forward broke clear to slot in their first (13mins). A great response from our boys defending well and trying hard to counter attack HG. This paid off when we managed to pull the deficite back with a great team goal which saw Billy Lippett finish the attack (25 mins). Other chances feel to HG in the box but some good saves from Ollie Waiton kept HG from scoring. Half time score 1-1 and a fair result so far.

Second half saw much of the same from both teams with possession changing hands frequently, HG hitting the post twice. Late in the game HG centre midfielder wrestled Liam Giles and ended up with the ball at his feet. Whilst appealing for a free kick HG broke through and scored (82 Mins). A bit shell shocked HG added to the score and went 3-1 up minutes later (86 mins). We then tried to press hard to get back into the game with time against us which paid of as young striker Dan Canning broke the offside trap and scored with very little time left (88 mins). Unfortunately it was too late for us to get another chance but feel we deserved a point from the game.

Overall a good response from our guys after recent results. GC has been forced to make a lot of changes due to injury etc and it is good to see that we have enough good players at the club to challange for these places.

Hayes Gate staff very welcoming and friendly and a nice pitch at Hanwell.

Have to back this point duncs. At RPV 08/09 we dropped 15 points against bottom 6 teams (21 points from 36), including 4-5 defeat to Cobham at home after being 4-1 up. Those points would have put us joint second with NGU (down to goal difference then) and a point above Chertsey, E&E and 2 points above Camberley. That would of been a great season for us.

Another good cup win against higher league opposition for South Park. Molly 11 on the scoresheet again with 2 and Mottram were the scorers. Our next scheduled league game is 25th September.

Thanks to all at Chessington for their hospitality.

Chessington & Hook 1-3 South Park AET

Park continued there excellent start to the season with another higher league scalp, on a slopping pitch each team had a half each after a very early scare and quality double save by Wastell in the Park goal it was one way traffic as the Div1 side had numerous chances but only took 1 into half time. Second half Chessington made the slope count and had alot of the ball but created few chances but the one they did was a quality strike into the top corner. Extra time was over as quick as it started!! Once a early penalty was converted there was only going to be one winner as the Div 1 side were sharper, fitter and added a third to kill the game off.

good result for Ash after the week they've had,i'm sure aupostie will let us know what it was like.

Yep at last a win again, fought much harder than in recent weeks, a couple more new faces & players back does make a difference. However we didnt have it all our own way & give Bookham credit the fought to the final whistle & looked better when they were a man short.

We took the lead after 20mins & could have had a couple more but the Bookham stood firm & kept us at bay. Then Bookham levelled with a couple minutes to go, but we showed abit more determination & got the winner just before the end off the game

Now for Badshot Lea on Tuesday

Sheerwater 1-1 Eversley.

Felt we did enough to win. Our captain scored from a free kick a yard inside the opposition half for second week running. Eversley equalised with 8 minutes to go.

Wolfman: What do you make of that??? Still think he is poor?

Well GASSY i cannot really comment as i didnt watch the games, Im not to sure of the lads name but if he scored two from the half way line then fair play, i thought watching him over at ashford he wasnt very good ur best players are the ginger/ blonde fella and tall black haired bloke....

No!

Cove missed a pen early on but continued dominating the whole 1st half. On 44 mins Duff scored to put Cove 1 up.

The 2nd half was all 1 way traffic and Cove deservedly scored another 2 to effectively make the tie safe.

At 3-0 up the Alresford centre half was dismissed for pulling back the Cove forward when clear in on goal with just the keeper to beat.

4-0 soon came and then chance after chance from the Cove substitutes were wasted. Alresford still battled and made a couple of efforts on goal with Cove stepping off the pedal but the Cove keeper was only really tested once and made a fine save.

Cove now face Ringmer away in a revenge match from last seasons Fa Vase exit!
