It is amazing how fast people go on the forum when Enfield lose and criticise after the East Thurrock game the forum was buzzing with peoples suggestions and ideas everyone thinking they know better. After yesterdays great victory I go on the forum too see whats happened and no one has anything too say. It's funny that! Everyone is entitled too their opinion but you will be better off getting behind the players all the time rather than piping up when things go wrong! Keep it going lads remember the titans!!!!!!!!!!!! X

Exactly, totally agree, I would have commented but am in Cyprus at the mo, so it would have been nice to read some views on our 5-0 performance and the standard of the harlow team who some were expecting so much from.

One thing i can comment on is that their were 6 people from my contingent missing on Monday and i know of at least another half dozen who could not make the game either, however a good crowd of 309 watched the match which gives us a healthy average of about 285 from the 2 home games, may that continue and continue to rise as well.

Well said M.E.D, I also agree with what you have said. Thoroughly enjoyed yesterdays victory and the second half in particular was a joy to watch. Morton deserving his MoM award. Missed Saturdays game, but it sounds as though that too was a resounding victory. 8 goals and 2 clean sheets - you can't ask for anymore.

Yes the ETU result is always going to be annoying and yes maybe we gave them a little bit too much respect, but I can guarantee you they are not going to be far away from that title this year and it was a good competitve game. I thought had we nicked a point there it wouldn't have been undeserved, although if ever a side was going to win that game it was them and so they did. 1-0 would have been a fair reflection me thinks.

Anyway, in short I don't think Towners can be anything but positive about things at the moment. I certainly am.

Didn't have time to post yesterday, so here are my thoughts.

For the first time, it looked like the 4-5-1 formation may work. The difference between yesterday's game and East Thurrock was that there was plenty of support from midfield for the lone striker - and Liam is far better suited to the role than Guns. The wingers both had outstanding games, with Guns running their left back ragged, and Sam providing a stream of high quality crosses from the other flank - three assists, enough said.

While all this was going on, did anyone else notice a superb performance from Gio at the back?

By way of a footnote, check out the Harlow forum (and the General Isthmian forum) for some good old-fashioned whingeing and sour grapes.

Couldn't agree more FJ.

Now that you mention Gio, yes I remember commenting myself during the game that he had an almost faultless afternoon. Made all the right decisions and looked very assured. I'd also like to mention Lockie who for me often gets forgotten about - consistent performer and there can't be many if any better than him in the league in his position.

Young Jey at left-back is looking a good prospect and I like the way Steve is putting faith in someone so young who clearly has bags of potential, especially on the ball. Of course Jey is still developing as a player all the time and Steve appears to know what games are more suited to having Bardle in that position when we may have less of the ball.

Protheroe's touch of class has made a difference also.

The result is very promising indeed! I agree Gio done well! Jey also had a good game! I still think without the experince of players like kirbs and Wallace we wouldn't be doing quite aswell as we would like. 5 nill against a team many would say will be up there is a great result! Clean sheet to!! Let's look forward to Saturday now

Fair point M E D.

My comments after Thurrock were regarding "tactics" and "defencive attitude".

Neither could be faulted on Monday, however, good as it was let's not get carried away as Harlow lost 2 important defencive players early on.

Last 2 games 8 - 0 goals.

Excellent.

I agree & disagree OT, I agree we can't get carried away we beat 2 poor teams, 1 average team and lost to 1 decent side. But I feel if we were playing East Thurrock this Saturday we would give them a much better game and my money would be on us beating them. I think the tactics and formation have been the same all season 4-3-3 stroke 4 -5-1 but I think the East Thurrock game came a week too early. It takes time with new players and new formations, hindsight is a wonderful thing and if we were playing East Thurrock this week I think Steve would play the same formation but maybe with different personnel. I feel we over acheived last year and was only 90 minutes away from promotion or you could say, one bad refereeing decision away. So I feel that the expectation this season is that we should win the league or at least finish in the play offs. So are we expecting too much? Considering no one expected us to do well last year. And this year we probably have the 8th or 9th highest budget in the league. That means there are at least 7 more teams more well equipped than us. I'm sure we will be up there at the end but I feel if things don't go right on the pitch we should encourage the players more rather than get on their backs.
