Farnham Town

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know whether Farnham's ground meets the criteria if they were to finish in a promotion place this season. I understand they have lights and seating but wasn't sure for some reason whether they were eligible. Weren't they relegated a few seasons ago for their ground not meeting the criteria.

I believe the Memorial Ground falls short (of reaching Grade F required for Step 5) in at least 2 areas v;iz:

Covered accommodation for a minimum 200 of which at least 100 must be seated

Secure walkway (safe unimpeded passage) between changing rooms & pitch.

Could be other areas though.

By the way they should have the secured walkway to be eligible for Grade G (current step 6) and have covered accommodation for 100 of which minimum 50 should be seats - not sure how many that small stand behind one goal holds?

bit of a kick in the teeth for them when a premier game was played there between Baggie Lea and the Fizzers at the end of last season.

Good point, either ground grading applies or it doesn't. Ground grading in general seems to be a nonsense though, in my opinion.

I was with Farnham for four season and we were relegated from the Premier division to Division One duw to the seating number failling short of four seats at that time

Shame we have not got a Farnham poster on here, would love to hear their report on the 4-1 demolition of Knaphill on Monday.Maybe Brunty or Trentender could give an unbiased view?

I'm a recent ex Knaphill and Farnham so have spoken to a couple of players from each side about the game. Apparently Knaphill did seem to dominate in large portions of the game but just coudnt finish their chances. Farnham capitalised on Knaphill's mistakes and scored their goals! One a keeper error, defensive error, a penatly and then a normal goal apparently.

Knaphill started this way last season and we all know what happened in the 2nd half of the season. I was there! However the league is so much stronger this year with the likes of Westfield, Warlingham, Eversley, Hayes Gate (just to name a few!) improving so its going to be a tough test. I'm still confident they'll turn it around though because their squad is too good.

Farnham have a completly new side this year. Only 2 players from last season are in their starting Xl and those 2 are pretty new as well. They have Paul Tanner managing them now who seems to have gathered a good side together and made an instant impact. Vast difference to the manager they had down there last season!! I hope they do well as its a good friendly club.

Defensive Error,Keeper error,Penalty,do you speak to Brunty much Cardo, seems like his report.

Smudger, dear chap. Are you not getting a bit tired with this constant sniping at Knaphill. Everytime they are mentioned you have to point out the're not your favourite team, you don't like the management, you think the greeting on matchdays is insubstantial.....need I go on.

Cardo24 is right, I have seen anumber of Knaphill's matchs so far, at the moment we can't seem to hit a barn door with another (slightly larger) barn door.

Plenty of attacking, plenty of chances then we slip up at the back and its 0-1 down!

When you first came on the Forum I thought you were a breath of fresh air, and you have done much to add to the Forum for which I think we are all grateful, but please just turn it down on the repertition.

I Thank You! (I've tried italics this time, is it any better?)

Yea Smudge your posts are pretty boring now regarding Knaphill, you don't like them, fair enough. Give us a list of other clubs you dislike (if there are any) and we'll vote on which one you can spend your time criticising next, just to mix it up a bit....

Milesy4 your last 3 posts

Moaning about losing to Cobham HAD LOADS OF CHANCES

Moaning about Officials after Drawing with F.N.E

Bigging up Victory over Cobham last year.

And now this post asking me why I do not like Knaphill, you are right I do not.As for other PEOPLE and CLUBS I have met in C.C.L.besides Knaphill, they are not big headed in Victory, and gracious in defeat. In fact at every Club I have visited the hospitality and help given has been 1st Class, loaned us Kits, even changed their own kit to accomodate.Must say that was not the case at Knaphill. Then we have Trentender's remarks 'let us know when your coming,we will get a crate of beer in' or after the Knaphill game last year 'They could not wait too get me out the Clubhouse after 2 cans of Fosters' B.T.K. comes to mind, which was shown with their audacious request of the C.C.L. for promotion behind all the other Teams backs.Which was rightly refused.Div 1 is tougher this year many teams have moved on,with better players.Have Knaphill?

Smudge, bigging up victory against Cobham was personal banter as I used to play there and know the players. Having loads of chances against Cobham this yr and probably deserving the 3 points, pretty sure a few of the Cobham lot have admitted that. FNE game, yea we deserved to win.

Il say it again, as you seem to have ignored it and simply had enough time on your hands to go through my posts and reiterate why you dislike Knaphill (shock, for the 50th time), your posts slating are boring, but as mentioned give us a list and we'll vote for a new team you can devote all your time to.

Oh I didn't ask why you didn't like Knaphill either, think I've read enough posts on here to put together a novel...

having watched the farnham knaphill game i thought knaphill looked quite good with possesion but lacked badly in final third and seemed void of ideas sometimes, until the barrage in the last ten minutes when they played four up top, think it was more of a off day for knaphill than them being weaker than last year and still belive they will there or there abouts at the end, also thought farnham defended very well and looked alot stronger and more organised team than last year also very dangerous on the break
