Lewis Smith Signs From Chelmsford City

On Friday 12th February 19 year old Lewis Smith joined Thurrock.

 

Lewis has signed for us from Chelmsford City, a promising young, pacey striker who learned his trade in the Youth and Reserve Teams at Fulham until 2007/08 when he joined Bishop Stortford on loan, netting eleven times. This earned him a trial with AFC Bournemouth in the summer and it seemed they would offer him a contract at Dean Court until the Cherries were hit with a transfer embargo. When hopes of concluding a deal ended in September, he re-joined Stortford on a game-by-game basis and marked his return with a wonder goal in their 2-0 defeat of neighbours St Alban’s City. Manager Hakan said “He’s young and hungry with a lot of pace and he has proven talent so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.”
