KRAPHILL FC

To be honest villager, you should feel pretty disappointed with yourself to come on here and start a topic with that title. Without knowing who you are and which team you follow, i can only imagine you are one of those people who is too old to play yourself, so have decided to look at something you can start a thread with, seen we havent had the best start and gone with that. Didnt play in the Hayes game but think it was a case of underestimating a new side coming in to the league. Staines Lammas are good side, always finish in the top 5. Cobham, good side last year, maybe not so much this year based on last nights performance, Knaphill didnt deserve to lose the game, which, just for you 'villager,' was the reaction from some of the Cobham FC followers i was sat with. Jurgs, as i had to watch from the stands for 75 minutes saw the game very differently to you and gota disagree with you mate, there were certainly more than 5/6 attempts and the waves of attack were one after another. You did pull off a couple of good saves in all fairness, thought you had a good game. Did think Shane was kept a bit quieter than usual but fair play to him, took his goal well and I could tell that from all the possession we had, you were going to nick something.

Sour note for me was your number 9 going straight over the ball with his studs on my ankle, meaning i had to go off after 15 minutes. The fact that the ref I dont think even spoke to your player was embarrassing from the officials, nearly as bad as having the Cobham Matchday Sec as one of the linesman, but there we go. Dont usually write long posts on here, but as ive had to take the day off work because i cant walk, felt a few things needed to be aired after seeing 'villagers' comment.

Personally, im more than happy for people to come on here and question the start that Knaphill have had/say its poor/say we wont win the league, but to anonomously come on here and start a thread like you have, is pretty disrespectful on your behalf. The fact you have only made 7 posts on here makes me think you should probably sit down and keep your 'thread ideas' to yourself. Im going with Guvnor on this one, happy for people to keep doubting us as just like last year, something will click soon and get our season going.

Knaphill must the most unlucky side in the division, to have quote 'dominated' all of their games this season and to have only won 1 game out of the first 5. I think that you had an almost identical record to last year and after a great run of form finished 3rd. Although i do not like Knaphill in the slightest for examples like yesterday with one of your staff not shaking hands, i will also not write you off coming back strong. The deference this year is that the league is alot stronger and no team will win 11 games in a row.

I do find it embarrasing that knaphill players / supporters are defending the team when they have lost or when someone makes a comment, take it on the chin and win your next game. How many games can you truly dominate without even getting a draw. You guys dont do your team any favours as when every club plays against Knaphill they desperately want to win as everyone seems not to like Knaphill. However no doubt the wins will start coming soon as the team is too good, wont they..........

Embarrasing that we defend our club / team mates.......good post

So smudge will we be seeing you at Redding way any time soon? sounds like you cant wait to return?

The short answer to that is NO.Every other ground I have been too.since my Combined Counties experience started, have been welcoming, friendly and helpful. This was not the case at Knaphill.Nothing against the Club as a whole, but the Management Team ruined my day, with their remarks and actions.

At the end of the day Knaphill aren't a bad horrible club. They've got some nice people and some good players but they also have some massive knobs, but so does every club. It just so happens that knaphill's is the face of their club. I'm delighted we won (a bit more than usual), because its almost like a derby with the amount of woking boys playing, but i hope they do well this year. Obviously not as well as us though.

When it comes to football I have never found the Knaphill management team to be anything other than rude and obnoxious. The players generally are ok but I'm not too enamoured with Brunty's attitude on here. I wasn't at the game last night and clearly there was a dodgy tackle that ended up with the Knaphill captain injured, however I know Jurgs personally and if he says that the Cobham forward was also injured then I tend to think it was a full blooded tackle that both parties slightly mistimed.

On the point of not warming up on the pitch I am flabbergasted but the stupidity of some people. Brunty acknowledges that the pitch is 'not a dust bowl like usual' however moans that you weren't allowed to warm up on it. Perhaps that is why?! In an effort to save the pitch. Any how, it is insignificant to when I played against Knaphill at Redding Way to be told we weren't allowed to warm up on the pitch... for us to go out and find Savage organising his usual self fulfilling sideshow on their half of the pitch.

At the end of the day we have to look at ourselves for the results, football is so frustrating at times but thats's why we love it???

I agree that we have dominated the games that i have seen or been involved wit but atm were lacking confidence in front of goal or the cutting edge that we had last year. Im sure it will come soon and there's no need to panic! I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and getting fit!

Fair play to cobham they dug deep, didnt play too good but shano took his goal well. Think it must of been Karma coming back to haunt us from the last game last season.

Some people on here make me laugh.............................Far too much time on there hands and worrying about other clubs and players. Just get on with your game and your club and stay out of other people's business.

Peace

My attitude .... So having my opinion that we deserved to win the game and saying I thought it was a terrible tackle when I was the closest player to it. I hve my view just like everyone on here and we all disagree at times. I also complimented the pitch and understand the thinking behind it and agree but when ur asked to warm up on a field that has pot holes everywhere and is so un even is not on it was actually quite dangerous!

So who r u then what club u with.?

I think that certain people take this league, forum too serious, it is meant to be a bit of a laugh. Some people don't seem to accept the banter. You boys have picked up from you defeat to us first game Animal. Staines will be up there again!!

Having taken the time to study all the posts on this particular thread, I feel it is probably the time to have my ha'penth worth.

I have been part of Knaphill FC since the start of their CCL campaign in 2007. I know all the people that go to make up the club, both on and off the field. Some of the comments made have some truth and others are misguided or misjudged to say the least. In that time I have met many people associated with other CCL clubs and found them to to be very friendly, hospitable and generous in their dealing with myself and the club in general. I went to Cobham last night with my father and two kids and after showing my CCL card and offering to pay for my guests I was pleasantly surprised to be granted free access for the rest of my party and given 3 programmes as well.

As well as seeing the Cobham match this season, I was at the Farnborough NE (away) & Worcester park (home) games and yes, I was amazed by the number of opportunities (not nessessarily chances) that Knaphill squanded on those three occassions (and we beat WP 4-1!). Having avereged nearly 3 goals a game last season it is disappointing & frustrating to see us fail to score so many times, have the players got worse, have the opposition got better, are the footballing gods not with us, who knows. What I do know is that is is easy to use this type of forum to bicker and bitch about other teams without any consequence.

I will admit there are clubs and individuals i have met that I do not particularly like, but that does not mean that I would bad mouth them in print and if I did I would I would at least have the courtesy to explain my comments; and if they were incorrect I would issue an immediate apology as I have done recently.

The one thing that frustrate/annoys me most about the game today is the intolerance of other people, clubs etc. If you don't like some-one, don't have anything to do with them; but you don't need to keep harping on about ad nauseum (that's Latin by the way).

Please every-one, let's try and get along with each other - as my old mum still says 'If you haven't got anything nice to say, don'y say anything at all!'

I Thank You (Again in the style of Athur Askey - I still can't get it to work when writing!)

interestingly i have seen knaphill twice this season and both times their manager refused to shake anyones hand! there is no coincidence in that in my view as on both occasions he was cearly frustrated and disappointed by his teams inability to win. I understand that, but also know that what goes around comes around and the sour grapes attitude isnt prevelant in ANY succesful team. Humble in victory and gracious in defeat, if you can be adult enough to live by that then you will not go far wrong.

All the while he and others display this attitude i wish them no luck and know that they will not be successful, in fact it inspires the opposition suitably and will always encourage the reaction it has from so many different posters on here.

All the best, hope you change but wont hold my breath.
