Tonight's Results

Recommended Posts

The goalscorers at Southchurch Park Arena tonight were: -

Anthony Scott putting London APSA 1-0 ahead

Then goals from Craig Davies, Aaron Baldwin and David Tubbs putting Southend Manor 3-1 ahead at half time.

Further goals from JJ and Aaron Baldwin again in the second half rounded things off.

Points of interest were Craig Davies equaliser, which was a lob from 70 yards, ,and Apsa having two players sent off in the second half with the score still at 3-1, which led to extremely threatening behaviour towards the referee by someone from Apsa by the tunnel at the final whistle, though it's unclear whether he was an Apsa official or supporter.

Edit - I should also really mention JJ the Bullet, who leapt like a salmon (a dead salmon) to nod home the fourth. I think the keeper was blinded by the glint from JJ's newly shaven head..

As I said the other day, Mauritius not going to be anybody's pushovers this season. I'm guessing Barking rotated heavily as they did in the first game though?

Barking did shuffle the pack a little but that should take nothing away from Mauritius, still had a very strong team on the pitch and thoroughly deserved their win. Mauritus were never going to be a pushover and showed that in glimpses even at the end of last year. Barking held all the aces in this tie and should have sown things up when ahead at the break, credit to Mauritus never stopped pushing forward second half and run out worthy winners after 2 entertaining games.

I am really upset about this result. I know we have the FA Cup game on Saturday but would like to have seen us progress seeing as this is a more realistic chance of silverware.

Well played Mauro and good luck in the knock out stages.

P.s - a group of 2 teams....how ridiculous!

Oh and I had to try and trim this huuuuuuge cider gut I have developed.

Burnham have started off slowly this season....have they lost many players??

Will be awkward when working out the 2 best runners up's!!

Might have been better doing how they used to, 3 groups of 4 teams and a group of 5 teams!! Top 2 go through to the quarters
