Southill Alexander got off to a winning start to the new season with a 3-1 win over Caldecote.

Southill got off to a sluggish start but were able to take advantage of their early chances with goals from Jason Lynch, Mark Mepham and Dan Hartland. This giving Southill a 3-0 lead at Half Time. In the second half, Caldecote made their expected charge, but Southill had some resolute defending and excellent goalkeeping from Dean Shipp. Although, Caldecote did have some poor finishing.

Towards the end Caldecote managed a consolation goal, but that was little reward for their efforts.

Southill have little time to reflect on their victory as they play defending League Champions, Blunham on Wednesday.
