20 goal a season man

Recommended Posts

Since we are all saying we need a 20 goal a season man what about Matthew Platt. wasnt he supposed to come back to us at some point, if so this is the perfect moment to ask him to come back.

Does anyone know where he is at the moment and have any statistics about his last few seasons.

also if anyone else has any other ideas who we could bring back or sign.

Well there are players out there and I'm sure sb knows we need one and has someone in mind. Surely we can tap into dave andersons contacts more

I shouldn't hold your breath because I don't think SB agrees.

He was quoted in the paper saying he doesn't think we need another striker because there are goals all through the team.

You know what would happen anyway because every decent striker that has joined Slough with a reputation of scoring 20-30 goals in the last few seasons never seems to find the net ever again!

The curse of Deji Davies!

LOL! You're so spot on,Tom!

What was the name of that striker we had from Basingstoke or was it Farnborough about ten years ago? Scored loads for them every season until he got to Slough, where I think he only scored once or twice.

Even Danny Jordan was profilic until we got him !

Paul Coombs! Only ended up getting 2 or 3 goals for us, one of them ironically at Farnborough.

Odhiambo (spelling?) was also a big scoring prospect though the Slough side at that time was shocking though he scores lots of goals since

as stated its not like we are desperately struggling to score goals and 3 strikers have scored so far. Swift and Sinclair will score a fair few and hopefully Byrne will eventually if we carry on with this team

Platt was playing for Newcastle Town FC last season.

If memory serves me right, he was also a northern lad who came down south for his industrial placement as part of his university course. Unless he were to find himself a job in this area again, I'd have thought he would be staying up north.

Platty was at uni up t'north and played for us when he had a placement at Heathrow. His degree was airport/airline related and the hope was that post degree his job would bring him back down this way. Clearly he will need to go where the work is so will just have to wait and see.
