Changes To The Website Team

There have been some changes to the website team this week with Chris Boxall standing down after 12 years of running and developing the site into the format you see now. Chris has put in countless hours year on year, often unnoticed by the masses, to bring the clubs website into one of the best in non league football in terms of its design, management and usability. The website itself has gone through many transitions and plenty of work has gone into the current site as it stands to allow for those who update it (Matt Webb and Tom Gathern for the football and the Trust Board as well for www.stst.co.uk) utilising a simplistic menu which automatically puts the correct page formatting for each article and report which means that no technical knowledge is required to update the site for the end users.

Personally, I'd like to thank Chris for all his help and time over the years. We've pestered him beyond belief at times and he will be taking a well earned break from site updates and the occassional match reports and news items he used to help with also! I think it is clear to see from the site alone how lucky as a club we've been to have Chris do what he's done when you compare the quality of our site with others in non league football.

Stepping into the breach for the site design and development will be Tom Gathern. Tom has been helping Chris in recent months and will be looking into the existing structure and coding of the site before adding in some developments to the site over the coming season. The most imminent change on the site will be the launch of the club shop which will be available soon on http://www.sloughtownfc.net. Please bear with us over the coming months as we tweak the site and look to continue and develop all the hard work Chris has put in over the years. Tom is very enthusiastic about the challenges which lay ahead and is already looking at some additional features for the site which will be announced in due course.

With these changes, we are always keen to hear from people who can help out with match reports, news articles or filming for the website. Anyone interested in helping out, please let me know via PM or via email to secretary@sloughtownfc.net

Got to echo the above, I always use www.sloughtownfc.net to prove to non-believers that I do support a proper football team. The site is a credit to you. Good luck Tom it will be a tough act to follow.

P.S more than happy to help out with match reporting if needs be but anything beyond that is above my technical skills!
