amazing scenes at basildon last night,we actually had a crowd.in recent seasons ive been there when theres been no more than a handful of paying customers,hopefully this is a sign that the club is taking off.basildon 0 burnham 0 was the result,a brilliant game,every burnham player was 19 or younger,lee perry looks like a brilliant prospect.i think they could be outsiders for the title.

An the crowds will come flocking back if we see football like last night. Both Basildon United and Burnham Ramblers put on a show to remember and I don't think anyone wanted to leave. It was like the good old days in the ESL and I encourage all and sundry to come and watch, what could turn out to be one of the most competitive season's in years ! As much as Basildon United most certainly played their part I was particularly impressed by this young and vibrant Burnham Ramblers who will shock a few on the long road to May 2004 !

Eton Manor could not stop talking about them last night especially as one of their team used to manage 5 of the lads and they wouldn't let him forget it! Sounds like an exciting team to watch as an independent!

Have to agree on the Burnham side last night although total football cannot continue on November/ Decmeber picthes at Enfield and alike.

 

Full marks to them though. We (Basildon) were rubbish and need to improve to gain any advantage in the first 5 games.

i reckon the attendance was about 100,normally when we get a crowd of that size it is made up of away supporters i.e. when we play enfield,romford etc.
