Well I think I've calmed down after that horrendous display.

 

A night I would rather forget!!

 

What is going on with the formation!! I really don't want to criticise but we must play 4-4-2. Stortford are an average side but we let them walk all over us. We seemed nervous and not prepared to take risks!!

 

Boylan must start and Gav Cowan is not a left wing back!!!

 

Typical Canvey, making a crap start!! As you can see I'm completely pissed off. The Tetleys at Stortford is horrible!!! Please do not drink it!! Half of it ended up being thrown on the floor in sheer frustration when Stortford scored their second goal!!! (sorry people if your clothes smell of beer, but that's my fault!! <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />)

 

Game was so bad, I spent most of it plane watching!!

Grays beat Braintree 5-0!!! Kingstonian beat Maidenhead 4-0, there's hope yet!!!

 

We were all so expectant going up there, getting there at 6.15 to a virtually empty bar and it all goes horribly wrong!!

 

Like my beer tonight, the team was very flat!!!

Y'know, once upon a time I'd have come on here and taken great pleasure in gloating at your defeat last night, but just recently things have changed.

 

There's a lot of love between our two clubs these days, and instead we find ourselves united against Bonechapel and Ricay.

 

But 0-2 against your Essex neighbours Stortford? What happened??

we played a centre back at left wing back and put 75 per cent of out attacks thru him cowans is a great centre back but no winger..

we had one up front and our other forward out at right wing?!?

play one up front, thats fine but at least make him big AND fast not big OR fast.. kennedy in the middle again? get him out on the right to provide some width, diagonal balls in to a lone striker was never going to trouble stortfords competent defence and any cahnce of some urgency when we win the ball? do we tart around in midfield to let them get organised for more of a challenge? when was the last time we got from end to end with 4 or so effective passes and running at pace.. its like watching the harlem globetrotters.. mind you with no one to pass to up front whats the rush..dobbers in the middle of the park please.. i knom ollie had a good pre season but greggors AND boylan up front to start midgely on for greggors later

stortford were pretty good played it around and didnt waste loads of time when in the lead.. fantastic playing surface!

Great postings on the first two games and I cannot wait to get involved (lovely mixture of passion and the technical)

Family circumstance has prevented being there so far and Crow is now back in the UK so Saturday will be our first game

Expectations are high this year and I am really keen on getting to the game Saturday

Like everyone else I was not happy with last night's performance. Why are we playing only one forward? We've yet to score from open play in 2 games ! The Gregory/Boylan partnership has worked well over the last 2 years, why change it?

We played a lot of pretty football in the middle of the park, but never looked like creating many chances and too often lost the ball there. I would like to see Dobinson and Parms back in to give a bit more passion on the pitch, which we seemed to lack. 2 of the 3 goals we have let in appeared to have been goalkeeping errors, so Potter should be given a chance on Saturday. Can't really fault the defence, I thought they were put under alot off pressure, as we kept loosing the ball in midfield and felt sorry for Smithy. I was quite close to both bookings and neither was a yellow card! Let's hope the management can see the same problems we do and sort it out soon. We have a great sqad of players, but we need to find a new and winning formular.

Yes that was me. Tend to wear the scarf more for away games but yes I supppose I am a scarfer!!

I couldn't have said it better myself Canv! Not even my Match Report was that "CRITISCISING"...Not even "CONSTRUCTIVE".

I really want to forget about last night's disappointing match. There was a bad aura around the whole night anyway, between the fans & players, fans & managment, fans and fans!!
