It's been an interesting opening to the season! Many pre season boasts have proved correct and some less so. Speaking from a Div 1 perspective one can see an improvement in quality already and it will come as no surprise to the onlookers to see Mole Valley start so well. I genuinly believe half of Division 1 would be more than competitive in the Premier and not get relegated. Watch out for some more 'shocks' in the cups!

On the subject of refereeing I always try and be subjective and understanding and there are many excellent officials whose fantastic work goes unsung...after all competant, communicative, and intelligent refereeing rarely gets a mention...... However there os the flip side and there are too many over 55's officiating in this league. Having graduating through the Surrey Intermediate and Surrey Elite in the last three seasons I can genuinly say there are exceptional officials in these leagues. What is stopping these officials moving up? Is there an 'old boys' network in place? This may or may not be the case but the standard of football is undoubtedly improving and the powers at be at the CCL must make sure that they are working with the referees to ensure the same. Not a moan as we all appreciate the time, effort ... and let's face it ... sometimes a lot of grief!.... but we all must move forward together.
