Enfield Town 1-1 Eaton Manor

Poor performance again. Allen ran his socks off again. We need some creativity in the centre of the park and someone to put themselves about a bit up front. Did you see the size of the eaton sub?

Lovely goal from Bradley Brotherton in the 5th minute. The first half on current form looked OK for town. Going forward we are starting to look better. Some nice touches by Wayne Grant, David Allen getting to the by-line (and Bradley Brotherton has been the best player by miles).

Wayne Grant has even started to take on the Clarkee mould of pouting when the ball didn't land at his feet and drifting back slowly after an attack. Is he Clarkee in disguise?

Eton Manor came out in the second half and battled until they got a handball in the area.

1 - 1. Full marks to Manor for sticking to it and getting a well deserved point.

At least we didn't concede any other soft goals like Saturday. The defence is still making the fans squirm though.

1 point from 2 games is not the best start to the season. But some of the big boys like Ilford, Waltham Abbey, Burnham and Basildon didn't get it all their own way either. Town Wooden spoon material? I hope not but things can only improve.

Come on Anne Robinson where are you?

First half started well and then we lost the plot, when it didn't work with Dave on the wing we lacked anything creative.

second half was boring, did we have an attempt on target ?

summary poor game; it will be a long winter unless we get a couple of better players.

ps team wasn't that different to the one that played the last couple of league games last season, so what (xcept Clarkee) has changed?

To be fair I thought Eto Manor were a better side than Basildon! Certainly a better "footballing" side.

Dave Allen was excellent, as ever, especially in the first half. Matty did well in middfield too, and I agree Brad was as solid and determined as ever. In fact I wouldn't really point a finger at any individual player, it just isn't happening for us.

We need more creativity in midfield. For the life of me I can't see why Rids didn't start - is he injured or unfit or something?

Keep the faith.

I agree with you Mr Invisible why was Rids on the bench

as I know he is not injured not unfit or anything else.

I just can not work out what is missing perhaps

they are all trying to hard ,it might get better if they

all relaxed a bit, look at the result at Ilford after we had won the league

I was at the game last night along with the rest of the Manor boys. It was a pleasure to visit your club, my first time. The game showed plenty of promise, and I thought both teams defended well. We were a little disappointed that we didn't get our first league win against you, but I thought it was a fair result in the end.

The Manor team is still knitting together, a few new faces at the club who have brought in some new ideas plus a fresh approach.

Thanks for the hospitality, you proved to all us visitors that you are indeed a family club with a solid tradition of good old fashioned hospitality.

Hope you pick up your form again soon. See you at the Manor for the home leg.

Cheers and all the best, and PS look out for our new web site in a few weeks time. www.etonmanorfc.co.uk

I'll give you a reason why we've started poorly.

For the last 2 seasons,we have played our first 7-8 games away(because of the cricket pitch)......This meant we did not have to play at brimsdown until after september.

At the moment,it is impossible to play passing football at home.

If there's one thing that ESL teams do well, that's chase the ball.....Which means that by the time the players have had an extra touch(or two),that it takes to get the ball under control, they have been closed down.

I firmly believe that once we've had some good rainfull, and the pitches get a soaking,we will regain the form of last year.
