FA Cup - Flying the ESL flag

Recommended Posts

Are any of them likely to be sunday games? I'll be going to Enfield Town v Waltham Forest on the Saturday..... but will try and catch one of the ESL sides on the Sunday if there is a date change?

Romford will be at home to Beaconsfield Sycob in the FA Cup on Sunday 29th August 2pm kickoff. Should be a cracking match, and atmosphere, as we are expecting a big attendance.

Good luck to all the ESL teams in the next round.

Official - Can you not plug your Ryman teams games over here. This is an ESL forum and the ESL clubs need all the support they can get. You, sir, are no better than a high street supermarket pinching business off the local mini mart. Have a look in the mirror will you.

In OSP's defence I don't think that he was in any way trying todivert folk over to our game when they would prefer to take in the Kentish Town v Bethnal Green one.

I suspect that he was just trying to offer an alternative to football fans who may not for various reasons be able to get over to the Barnet Copthall Stadium on the 29th but would still like to take in a local Sunday FA Cup game over the weekend.

We at the Boro have not (and will never) forget our ESL roots which is why some of us were over at Mayesbrook Park yesterday evening to cheer the Blues on.

Congrats on your good win by the way and I hope that you have an enjoyable cup tie against Redbridge on the 28th.

Gaffa I have a history of over reacting to situations which I make no secret of. About 7 years ago I did a 45 day stretch following a road rage incident. It wasn't too bad as I was supposed to only do 90 days. Part of my therapy is about letting go and taking a step back. I was wrong to jump down Officials throat it just gets me riled that clubs at our level of football are struggling to make ends meat while these "bigger fish" swan about, cherry picking the better players for an extra £20 a week and now they target our supporters. Again I am sorry and really really appreciate the support we had last night from the Romford contingent.

I am sure that OSP will, like the gentleman he is, accept your apology gracefully.

Just one thing though BM, although I can't speak for any other teams at any other level of course and as far as I am aware, Romford FC do not pay any of their players.

I have been told that a number of them have been approached by other clubs in the closed season with good offers but have turned them down to continue playing for the Boro!

Loyalty, like knowledge, is the bomb and long may it continue!

You're right Romboro I think I over reacted so apologies Official.

I am all for supporting other "local" sides when Barking do not have a game.

Apologies not needed BM, hope you have a good cup run, and it would be great to see Barking soon back in the Rymans where they belong.

Just to confirm for anyone attending the Kentish Town Vs Bethnal Green Utd Preliminary round tie, it is not being played at Barnet Copthall Stadium due to athletics.

It is being played at Kingsbury Town FC, Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, Kingsbury, London NW9 7NE (Home of Kingsbury London Tigers) 3.00pm Kick Off.

On Sunday 29th August.

I think that went without saying and I had already reliably informed Bethnal Green United that the game will be played at Kingsbury on Sunday 29 August!
