Bedfont 1-2 Rebels

We got caught out by one of the very few chances that Bedfont had tonight, while not really taking the many chances that we created in the second half.

Absolute certain penalty in the last couple of minutes of the game scored by Swift when Martin was tripped in the box, after Befont had equalised with ten or so to go. Sonner scored for us earlier in the half off Sinc's saved shot.

We need to start taking our chances more often, especially with Hitchin coming up on Saturday. We had a great spell in the second half with some fantastic chances and could have won it by several goals.

Well done boys, we played right up to the end and didn't give up.

Top of the league!

probably should have won by more than 2-1 but who cares at the end of the day. 6 points out of 6 without playing consistently at our best. lets be honest there is not 1 fan who wouldn't have taken that if offered on Saturday morning

Swifty took the penalty very well considering all the delaying tactics the keeper tried to use to put him off

hard to put finger on really how we have let in a goal in both games really as we have only really had 4 or 5 chances against us so far. Jacko hasn't really made a save so far just both have been finished very well by opposing players

WE ARE TOP THE LEAGUE SAY WE ARE TOP THE LEAGUE!!!!

Tonight was the kind of match I feared till injury-time after watching us all pre-season. First half quite even with us just edging it but second-half us totally dominating the game but unable to get a crucial 2nd goal which would have killed the match, then they have one shot on goal in the whole of the second-half when were playing well it's 1-1 out of nothing.

Now don't get me wrong, I think we have some very good strikers (and I know i've banged on about this all summer) but we don't have that Elliott Buchanan/Matthew Platt goalscorer who would have taken the chances tonight and we would have come away with a comfortable 3 or 4 goal victory.

Now I know they are not easy to come by, but for me we need to find that player otherwise I can see a lot of games following the pattern of tonight, but we won't always get that last-gasp winner. We have a very good side and I think are much more of a team this year whereas last year we were very individualistic, but need that one goalscorer to make us complete in my opinion.

Big old game Saturday even at this early stage, should be a cracker. Decent away following as well in a crowd of 259

First half was a fairly even and uninspiring affair which we maybe edged with Sonnner hitting the post late on. We looked most threatening when attacking from the wide areas but couldn't seem to apply enough of a threat in the penalty area.

Second half we played at a very high tempo, pressing the opposition, scored early and then had chance after chance to seal the points. As a cynical and longstanding Slough fan this made me feel the equaliser was inevitable but what was pleasing was that when it did come we didn't let the heads drop and continued to press for a winner and the game opened up. Definite penalty, the foul was right in front of me but Simon certainly made sure! Great penalty by Swift after a long delay and some gamesmanship from the keeper.

Looking at the squad I think we may need two more players. One of them would be NBH if he does indeed return but like everyone else I think we may need a 20 goal a season striker to supplement the forward line. That said Sippo and Sonner have both now got 1 in 2 and have hit the woodwork so perhaps we have two already!

We should have won by more as there were a lot of very close off sides given against us and some were very close.

Sean Sonner and Coyne were my Motm's as they worked there socks off all match and they were absolutely everywhere. Sonner was very unlucky not to get a hattrick as he was deinied twice by two very good saves and his header in the first half brushed the wrong side of the post.

Sippets also came extremely close when he was played in by sonner but was forced into a very tight angle and still managed to hit the corner of the goal.

There were a lot of good signs today but we just need to stay onside and improve our shots from outside the box when running (I know this is easier said than done but we often have a lot of these types of chance when our midfielders break though just outside the box and then have a weak or wild shot)

some people last night were saying we will probably end up in the top 3 or 4 and i agree.

It was traumatic enough watching it on Twitter at home, so I hate to think what people at the game were going through!

Scared the dog by leaping around the living room like a loon when the news of the penalty going in came up!

Looking forward to Saturday now.

What summed the game up for me was the referee wearing black when Bedfont had an extremely dark blue kit.

You could only tell it was the ref from the fact he didn't have a number on his back.

Both teams complained about it, but nothing was done. All he had to do was to get his team of 3 to wear red bibs.

That was ridiculous, and all the ref's that go there are going to have the same problem. Both sets of sides complained about it and all he seemed to do was have a go at them instead. The officiating last night did leave a lot to be desired at times, especially with some of the challenges that went in and he let go.

When we gave the Referees Assistant some stick about the Referee wearing virtually the same colour as the Bedfont players he said that Bedfont applied the league for permission to wear the kit for the season and the league sanctioned it.

I don't know if it's true but someone mentioned that league rules state that the Referee cannot change the colour of his top.

Not sure if I am right, but I think all referee's in non league football wear black so why would a football team pick a colour so similar.

I know they wear pretty colours in the premiership etc but not sure I have noticed any colours at our games
