Chertsey v Hanworth

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Watched a good match last night, the best I have seen so far in my limited (but growing) exposure to the CCL.

Hanworth took Chertsey to the wire last night and certainly deserved a point.

The fact they didn't get one was largely due to Bradshaw (I think) in the Chertsey goal who had an excellant game and was rightly given the Man of the Match award after the game. (This seems to becoming a trend as the other time I watched HV this year the Ash keeper was MoM). I can confirm however that his best "save", when he dived low to his right, a la Banksie, to scoop the ball off the line, wasn't a save at all. As the closest person, apart from the keeper, to the goalline I can confirm that the ball was clearly over the line.

In addition to a good keeping display the goal was a screamer. The Chertsey full back smashed one home from 25-30 yards, giving the Villa keeper no chance.

I've now seen Chertsey, Hanworth & Badshot Lea twice each and to my eye there's not a lot between them. I know Chertsey & Badshot are probably rightly amongst the early favorites for the title but I will be very surprised if Hanworth don't finish in the top 10.

Considering going to CWU tonight. Is the bar worth a visit?

PS - Chertsey, get some beer!

For all Chertsey's millions you still cant get a cold pint !

I have heard that Mr Day has made an illegal approach for the Egham Barman and his barrels of beer.

We will fight them in court or take Tom Oregan as compensation

Steve :)

after seeing badshot on saturday against a lower league farnham i honestly thought they played good stuff but they created 2 chances and they were from poor defending from set pieces , and when brad smith came off they looked very average uptop ,i can see them being top six but not for title surely?

GG, Bradshaw was at Ryman side Leatherhead last season until he had a falling out. Good keeper.
