The 'New' One Show

So who saw the new look 'One Show' this evening with Jason Manford and Alex Jones, I have to confess that I was very disappointed and give me Adrian Chiles and the stunning Christine Bleakley any day of the week. Alex Jones's Welsh accent and fixed smile is somewhat irritating and to have the boring Whoopi Goldberg on the first show was a huge mistake, I won't be watching again!

I thought it was ok, never really was a fan of Chiles, and the new female presenter, looks a bit like the last one, the show as far as im aware is live, so it must of been nerve racking,.. its all i suspect from a 7pm ''community'' type programe, im sure it get better..

You're not missing anything as it's truly shocking, Alex Jones seems nice enough and I'm sure she is but her Welsh accent and fixed smile is a turn off and, at the end of the day, she can't hold a candle to the stunning Christine Bleakley

Give them a chance Rhodes, ..enjoyed the show last night with ole Tommy steele,and according to reports they becoming a ratings winner,but the shows format, is good, mixture of wierd and wonderfull news stories, presenters come and go,... best wishes to them i say,...........

Nothing wrong at all with the new setup.

 

Works fine on the couple of occasions that I have seen it.

Ian - I beg to differ I'm afraid, Alex Jones is no Christine Bleakley infact although they look fairly similar in appearance they are like chalk and cheese

Ian - I think the Sun summed Alex Jones and Jason Manford up perfectly this morning with the following, it says it all about them really:

 

'Holy Holyhead harbour, it's the girl who put the mouth in Monmouthshire. A Welsh Banana Split with a Fisher Price haircut and a voice that cuts through me like Charlotte Church with a buzz saw. It's Alex Jones demonstrating the drawbacks of BBC1's lookalike recruitment policy, alongside Jason Manford, a partnership that has so far failed to produce any of the chemistry you need to present this show. Manford's problem is that he is a comedian who craves laughter and doesn't listen to a word anyone else says unless it can feed his next line.

Well, I caught about ten minutes of it. Jason should stick to comedy and Alex seriously needs someone to coach her on presenting, AND hire someone to advise her on her clothing.

Big J R - Thank you, I rest my case, I think 'Charlotte Church with a buzz saw' just about said it all, a Welsh accent grates at the best of times but Alex Jones's really takes the buscuit

Has anybody watched the new 'Daybreak' show this week with Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, it is in a different league altogether to the dreary and predictable 'One Show' with Alex Jones's fixed smile and grating Welsh accent and you can see what Frank Lampard sees in Christine as she is absolutely stunning
