Wealdstone v Enfield Town

Enfield Town (0) 0

Enfield Town had another encouraging workout, their final action before the season’s curtain raiser against Waltham Abbey on Saturday. Fielding a number of changes from the game against Fleet Town, a competitive first half saw the scores level at half time. The second half saw Wealdstone take more control helped by wholesale changes to the Town line up on the hour mark. They were still unable to make in roads in the Enfield defence though and Town improved as the game wore on. With a draw looking likely, a final chance for Wealdstone came after Paul Campbell had put the ball behind for a corner. As the first ball in was cleared, it was fired goalwards and blocked by the post. Greg Ngoi was on hand to blast the ball over the line

Enfield Town: Miles Duffy, Jordan Lockie, Dave Bastian (Paul Campbell 60), Craig McKay (Dave Kendall 45), Mark Kirby (Rory Smith 60), Lee Protheroe (Dennis Maharjan 60), Paul Marks (Fabio Valenti 60), Richard Morton (Rudi Hall 60), Danny Jones (Liam Hope 60), Adam Wallace (Bryan Hammatt 60), Sam Byfield (Fabio Valenti 60).

the announcer couldn't cope ever with our mass subs.

however we did play well, and really should have at least drawn. PC looked back to his best, and bryan will definitely offer us something coming off the bench. The problem may well be getting the startign 11 right as once again we have a lot of players. where to play protheroe though??

Proths needs to play in front of the back line.

He has experience, talks and will encourage those around him. Plus he can tackle and pass.

All sounds too good ! !

Loved the announcers comment of "For Enfield Town a substitution free for all", Quality. cheesy%20(2).gif

I don't think Steve will have too much trouble selecting his 1st X1 for this Saturday. I detect we have 3+ quality new boys in the set up that pick themselves. Lets hope those being left out for the first few games hang around and fight for the right to be selected. i'd rather be at a progressive club than playing 1st team footy for a struggling club. The squad players can always play reserve team footy (which their will be lots of) to place a claim or put themselves in the shop window for.

But agree totall with OT's position for LP to start with.
