Can any of you officianado's tell me, there was a rumour going around at the weekend that the treatment of injuries on the field of play has changed and that the player is no longer required to leave the field of play, any truth? or wishful thinking ?

Yes and no

As far as I am aware the only change is that if two players from the same team collide and both require treatment, they will not be asked to leave the field of play as this would give too large an advantage to the other side.

do the players from the same team have to have collided (as Ian says) or is it just 2 players from the same team get injured (as Mewcenary says)??

Which one??

Re: Player being treated being removed from FOP:

New Text (IN BOLD)

Exceptions to this ruling are to be made only when:

• a goalkeeper is injured

• a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need immediate attention

players from the same team have collided and need immediate attention

• a severe injury has occurred, e.g. swallowed tongue, concussion, broken leg
