I simply hope that all of the speculation as to the identity of ishmael will be warranted and that it will be confirmed shortly that he has actually signed for margate.

On the subject of international clearance-i wonder whether Shermans has come through.

-or even tonight via the new site.

Waugh-and subject to clearance with the implication that will take a bit of time to resolve,Ishmail it is then.

Good enough for me.

Hopefully wellsie will now produce a 'final' squad list of those registered to play.

i wonder if Lamprell has been registered to play as second goalkeeper for example

No place/money for the likes of Etienne clarke then

I'm still optimistically thinking the new forward is a.n.other rather than the two we already know about. That's the way I was reading into things with the newsletter anyway.

I will be disappointed if a replacement for Tait hasn't been found apart from the two mentioned & besides isnt Waugh a midfielder?. Waugh & I.K.alone (though good signings i.m.o.) will not solve our problem up front entirely.

Tait would have been taking up a large chunk of the budget I would have thought & he needs replacing, as another good striker is still required to help get us goals. Maybe I.O.still has someone in mind & maybe I am being a tad premature here so we wait & see I suppose. As it is of now though we really are thin up front but good luck to those we have managed to keep. I.K I believe will improve even further but he needs some help.

It would also be a shame if we couldn't keep Etienne-Clarke. I thought he showed up very well in friendlies.

Give them a chance Cookie-

we have'nt kicked a ball yet.

Waugh seemed to have more of a poachers knack than tait-and from what i've seen and read of ishmail-he's done nothing wrong.(and a sirrra leone international so he can't be too bad

i agree though that the going will be somewhat different once the league stuff starts.

We do have pinnock anyway who seems lively again-plus Sigere,so arguably 4 forwards already.

I think the wording in IOC's interview suggests that what we see now is what we've got-and certainly-thats it for now.

Chapter closed on signings -at least for the short term -maybe if one or two are released-we may get someone else in

I think we will know after 3 games if they can survive at ryman level-my gut feel says they can.

By that time-if welford still not in the dover starting line up-maybe just maybe

(Not a hard act for waugh and ishmail to live up to when Huggins was second top goalscorer with just 4 goals last season-blackman would have got 20 though had IOC bothered to play him)

Michael, having seen quite a few of the pre-season games it dosent take a lot of noddle to see how short we are up front. I'm positive that I.O. also will have noticed this too & will be busting a gut to improve matters up front.

Pinnock & Sigere won't be such a force up front this time round for obvious reasons though they is still highly capable on their day it has to be said .

If injuries arise with our front man we really would be stretched up front without an extra striker.

I don't think either that I have put Ishmail down,on the contrary, from the 1st time I saw him I said there was something in him despite others on the terraces finding some of his play comical at times in that game (in a nice sort of way). Waugh also I like very much.

Ishmail reminded me a bit of the Akinde first games where I was also seeing something about that player at the time that not many others were seeing & we all know the story of him thereafter.I'm not going to go as far as to say Ishmail will go as far as Akinde but I think he has the ability to do so in time.

I am chuffed that Ishmail HAS now improved & so far I am being proved right (thank goodness). I will expect him to prove a major player for us when he does improve his game even further.

BUT as I have said we need another up front but preferably not lightweight & with some experience or some kind of reputation for scoring goals.

Ishmail alone (or with Pinnock/Sigere) won't be enough as things are.

We have those wages of Tait's within the budget still (I think, but may be wrong on that) to help with this so why not use it for a replacement.

I'm sure Ishmail,Waugh,Tait,Sigere & Pinnock would have been the ideal & would have been the gaffers choice but now Tait has gone he DOES need replacing i.m.o.

Hey if I'm proved wrong & we do it without an additional player then great but from what I've seen we are still lacking another forward.

Defence is solid i.m.o. midfield will hold there own too but its up front.

It's no good early in the season losing games or even drawing them when another goalscorer could have made a whole lot of difference.

WELFORD or similar would be a bigger bonus than even I could imagine & with him or a player like him on board I would definately then be going down that bookies & taking the 50/1 on offer .

These early games could end up proving valuable to our chances of promotion/survival later on.

Frustrating that Ishmail may miss first few games due to international clearance. Maybe an earlier decision on offering a contract would have avoided this. Based on Saturday's performance he certainly gave us pace and energy and a goal scoring threat. When he went off we definitely lacked something up front. However until Saturday despite seeing him a few times I was not sure whether he was the answer up front and maybe that was the problem although for enthusiasm and commitment he probably deserved a contract after the Sittingbourne match!
