The Team for Saturday?

Recommended Posts

OK,the Gazette is out. Not many clues there.Oates doubtful,Koussi injured and Luke suspended. There was a big mention of Micky Haswell's injury but the only mention of the Romford game was that McKenzie scored a penalty! However there was a good write up of Brentwood's cricket match against Colchester so that will have been of interest to many I suppose. I was interested in another paper comment by Craig, that Micky Haswell is the best left back in the league. That being so(before his injury) suggests Cousins would have been a central defender with,I assume, Wild and therefore Flanagan would have been on the bench.

Well, I think I have just over half a team: O"Rawe,Cousins,Wild,Flanagan,Modeste,Hyde,McKenzie, and Charge. Who would like to add(or subtract) from this list? Every little helps!

We could have the entire Brentwood cricket team pitching up for us?

Perhaps we could have a pick and choose of a goalkeeper?

Thats only if we are in disarray as to who is actually going to be between the sticks this season still?

In fairness it's hardly our fault if our chosen GK elects to up sticks to Spain the week before the season starts. Maybe the goalkeeping position might be a bit clearer by Thursday night when we see who pitches up at training.

If Oates is injured I think the starting line-up could be

Hogan

Collis Wild Flanagan Cousins

Kilapi Hall Hyde Humphrey-Modeste

Charge McKenzie

may be a 4-3-3 with H-M up with the front two.

The alternatives to that being O'Rawe in at right back (which I might actually go for)

I don't see H-M at left back (in this game anyway) as we don't really have any other width with Kouassi and Luke out

Street is an alternative to Kilapi in midfield.
