We are only 2/3 games in.

 

Nevertheless, we will have all mustered up an idea of who we think are looking strong and weak.

 

My top 5 at the moment would be

 

Bethnal Green, Stansted, Witham, Enfield and Barking. I dont think we, Barking, have the strength in depth required to win the league. I am leaning towards Bethnal Green at the moment as they look strong and are spending a lot of money on players. Witham are doing the same and so are Enfield. I think we can sneak into the top 5.

 

I think if there were relegation in this league I would be worried for Basildon who have been walloped by Stansted and Bethanl Green.

Think ur a wind up merchant mate, don't know where u get ur info from but bethnal green defo do not spend money not a single player gets a penny, I'm sure u were just looking for a reaction though so I'm glad I could help.

 

when i see the Bethnal Green line up im suprised to be told that they have no budget but if Justin and Akhtar say that then im happy to believe them and congratulate them for assembling such a squad.

i cant quite remember Basildon being walloped by Stansted, any visitor to Gardiners Close this season will be amazed to see the improvements we have made to facilities,our programme,a new first team kit, a long lists of sponsors and two very well run youth sides. on the field we already have a fine performance at Sawbo to build on and im sure as the weeks go by we will go from strength to strength.

TAFKAM9 - Sorry mate, I was not looking for a reaction. I have it on good authority the players at Bethnal Green were being reimbursed with "expenses". What's your involvement at the club? Can you categorically know that this isnt the case?

 

I am just interested to get peoples opinions at this stage regarding who are the movers and shakers. I am not interested in causing bickering.

Well I would not lie if I had a budget I would come on fans focus and say I expect to win the league, I have told my chairmen if he gave me 500 pounds a week I would win the league with my eyes closed, but we don’t have a pot to piss in, in fact certain players and my self would quite often dip into are own pockets to get things for the team, like tracksuits kit and etc, I work hard to persuade player to come play for me and I wont lie most of them ask if there is money and when I tell them there aint most say even if you could give me petrol money I would come play for you, but we don’t even have that, what helps is we are a London club so get to keep London players, but yes I can see why people think we pay because I have one hell of a squad but please and take this from me we don’t pay a penny, that’s why few of my players left in pre season did not enjoy it else where and came back Anton perfect example got loads of offers to leave we had about 7 clubs come in for him but he enjoys it and I work hard to make it a family club where we all become really close so sorry to burst your bubble people but I no its hard to believe but there are some managers out there that can get players to play for them without paying them money.

 

 

 

P.S look @ coachie his squad is so good he turned down the chance to sign Anton hi coach

Sorry u obviously don't know "beggsy" too well, @ barking mad I'm 1 of the players that would be getting payed, I'm also the guy tht bought the training kit and pays towards the physio so I think I'd be in the loop.

I did wonder how you manged to get a game Anton :brille008:

 

Great shout TIC.......I was puzzled how he gets in, they must be very nice tracksuits that he has bought :smilewinkgrin:

Wow...I didn't realise you were a player. Does your manager know you come of "fans" forums?

 

I will take your word for it though and respect you for putting the record straight.

 

This may make me change my assessment of the top 5 as it may be tough for you to hold onto your players if the lure of financial rewards come knocking!!!

Barking Mad knows who everyone is on here trust me.

 

I know that Beggsy turned down a good offer to play for Maldon & Tiptree due to travelling so if he is playing for nothing then fair play to him

 

I think it's been very quiet from Enfield lately, who for a fact are paying silly money. Stowey just signed. Say no more

I think Witham, Stansted and BGU will all be there or thereabouts. Enfield I'm not so sure...... I just think looking at their squad (based on the team that has played so far) it's not as strong as it's been in some previous seasons, and it must be frustrating to keep getting close and not being able to finish the job off..... It's a tight league again this year, and I've got a sneaky feeling that you might see Enfield drop out of the top 4.

 

As for outsiders...... I said before the season started that both Bowers & Pitsea and Eton Manor massively underachieved last season for the quality of players at their disposal and in both cases it was because they conceded soft goals week in, week out. Both have made decent starts and I wouldn't be surprised to see either in and around the top 6 or 7 come the end of the season. The other outsider, as has already been mentioned is Hullbridge. They're not experienced enough to win the title but the top 6 is definitely a realistic goal for them to aim for, whether they get there or not is another thing - but they are much improved compared to a couple of years ago.

 

As for Barking...... if they'd kept Ben Turner and Ricky Mackin I had them down as having a genuine title chance - they were such a big part of the team last season - I'm not sure Barking will make the top 5 or 6 without them. There are some decent players there - I just think that those two were a massive part of them.
