PHIL KANE UPDATE

Steve Newing

Recommended Posts

Phil I understand has undergone an operation which involved the insertion of a metal rod , which has been pinned at both ends , ankle and knee. The good news ( if you can call it that ) is that there was no nerve damage , nor ligament damage. It was a clean double break of both the tibia and fibia. What it does mean however is that Phil will almost certainly miss the whole season , as the consultant reckons 9 months to be fully healed to play football again. Steve and Jason are gutted as Phil was looking like being a more than capable replacement for Darrell. The reaction of the players and in a couple of their words " Phil has been superb pre season , the best player etc... " shows how much we will miss him.

WIshing you a full and speedy recovery Phil.

One thing I'm sure Phil would not want is for our team to think we can't carry on without him. Therefore, the best tonic for Phil is that we can welcome him back ASAP but as a Premier Division Player at ETFC next season. In the meantime lets hope he gets back to full health and fitness quicker than predicted.
