Fleet Town (1) 1 Collier 34

Enfield Town (2) 3 Morton 12, Mehmet 29, Hall 78.

Another tough game, this time against Division One South side Fleet Town pushed Enfield preparations one step further towards the season's opener against Waltham Abbey. With both halves finishing with a deluge, Town can also be happy with their wet weather training as well.

The opening goal came when a good run from Deniz Mehmet out to the right gave him room to fire a low ball into the danger area and Richard Morton drilled home. Jay Siva almost found the top corner moments later with a seeking ball across the box. Adam Wallace should then have scored but could not slide the ball under the Fleet keeper when through on goal. Fleet Town were still struggling to create a real threat when Mehmet chased a hopeful ball before looping back and smashing it across the goal into the far corner. A quick reply from Fleet came when Lee Collier fired a low free kick past the wall and in off the post.

Fleet had more of the game in the second half but could not break down the Enfield defence. Rob Blackburne made a some good saves and the home side squandered an opportunity to level when a header from close range bounced onto the cross bar keeping Town in front. With the Home goalkeeper harshly penalised for handling as he carried the ball out of his area, a stand in was needed for the last 10 minutes. Rudi Hall showed no mercy from the resulting free kick, and calmly curled the ball round the wall for the third goal. A late chance fell to Darren Wheeler when he beat the Town defence, but Rob Blackburne stood up well and got a foot to his shot to keep it out.

Enfield Town: Rob Blackburne, Jordan Lockie, Jay Siva, Rory Smith (Richard Butler 63), Dave Kendall, Richard Morton (Mark Kirby 72), Deniz Mehmet (Fabio Valenti 45), Rudi Hall, Liam Hope, Adam Wallace (Scott Buckeridge 61), Danny Jones (Michael Bardle 72).
