just to say i was a pleasure to finally meet Big JR today. 5-0 was harsh on Dorking, they started better than us. Unfortunately defensive errors contributed to some of our goals. Managed to miss a penalty too. I think Dorking will fair better this term than last.

Ash's road to wembley lasted a good 45mins but after halftime Horley took control & deserved the win. Went behind in the 1st min to a deflected freekick but levelled midway in the half. Nothing between the sides but in the 2nd half Horley regained the lead & never looked back. Scored two more late goals to make the scoreline looking better for them, but again if we continue to defend like we have as a team its going to be a very long hard season ahead.

Anyway good luck to Horley in the next round against the Met Police

Knaphill 4 - 1 Worcester Park

The Knappers are up and running! One nil up at half time through Foxy and hoping that a repeat of last Saturday was not on the cards. Torrential rain for most of the second half, to which the pitch stood up to very well!

3 goals in the second half from Matt Baker 2 (1 pen) & a cheeky number from Rocky Hogsden. Worcester Park tried ahrd all game and got som ereward with a gaol in the final minutes. Long hold up whilst WP keeper was treated after clash with Knappers player, 50/50 ball; and althought the keeper went of to St Peters, we at Knaphill hope that the damage is not too great as he looked very good.

Trip to Farnborough NE on Tuesday night for first away game of the season, should be a good game.

COME ON YOUR KNAPPERS!!!!

GREAT RESULT!!

Are you kidding me? 2 games in and your questioning the manager you dick!!!

'steve' ends up with egg-ham on his face after this one then. Rather set himself up for it with his comments in the weeks beforehand.

The self-styled 'angels' of Egham came unstuck against the 'big bad bullies' of Guildford. City rode their luck at times, and started poorly - Egham hitting the woodwork three times in the first half. Having conceded, City drew themselves back into it and took a 2-1 lead into half time, although it could easily have been 3-0 to Egham by that point! The hosts had a good spell of pressure in the second half, before Joel Greaves found the back of the net from nothing to secure the victory for City. If Carlsberg did pub teams...

The difference between the attitude of the two benches was huge. On one side, well behaved and calm - in the other, a manager bawling expletives at his players, opposition players, officials and supporters. If you'd been believing the rubbish spouted on this board in the last few weeks, you might have been surprised which was which. And yet there was still time for the star of the show to embarrass himself further, trying to instigate a bout of good old-fashioned 'fisticuffs' rather than the traditional handshake at the end of the game.

Mind you, there was some curious self-defeating bitterness afterwards, with the Egham barman ignoring some of our supporters after the match. Clearly they don't need the money, so we won't be in at all next time!

Next up in the cup, a tough home match against Cove or Three Bridges.

Disappointing result today, but all credit to Hayes Gate for their 2nd half performance.

We played well in the first half, but struggled in the torrential rain in the 2nd half. In all the time I have been involved in football,I haven't ever seen conditions like that!

Very impressed with the attitude of the Hayes Gate players and management. Despite being 2-0 down, they never once asked the ref to call the game off. A welcome addition to the league and I hope they do well this season.

DORKING TEAM:- John McBride : David Suchy: Daniel Evans: David Thompson: Sam Sawyers (Capt.): Tyrone Oliver: Dean Cox: David McCann: Toby Fitzgibbon: Ian Jamieson: Chris Attree: SUBSTITUTES FROM:- Jon Tyler: Harry Meneh: Darryl Jeeves: Martin Waldren: Luke Reid: James Campbell: Leif Borgust.

BRACKNELLTEAM:- Dan Tilson: Matt Wright: Sam Wyatt: Liam Woozley: Scott Bursill: Robert Yorke-Goldney: Steve Ryan: Tom Nugent: Callum Whitty (Capt.): Ben Wright:Deam Thomas. SUBSTITUTES FROM:- Craig Sayers: Robbie Nicholas: Gary Campbell: Nathan Christian: Dan Mansfield: Junior Arquimba.

Nice to meet you at last TC !

After a phone post-mortem today, we decided that Bracknell had 5 chances, took them, and scored. DFC had just as many if not more, and didn't.

As TC says, the scoreline doesn't really reflect the standard of the game.

CB Hounslow 1-4 Warlingham

Another win for you boys Tucker, any predictions for the season for Warlingham - dark horses for the title. Think this season will be very tough for all sides, a good start to the season could make all the difference. Nice to see the Warlingham sides with the only 100% records in the league.

Smudge, I've never said our players are perfect. There's no denying that there are times when things can get out of hand, but it's not just us. My problem is with the 'Why do I bother' thread which just became a point for people to abuse us and our manager. Until others are 'whiter than white', I'm not really sure they should be doing that.

And the spouting of rubbish didn't come from you, I'm referring to the comments about our manager, who is a bloody good bloke and doesn't deserve to read all the [****!!****] that's been on here in the last week or so.

Well done Hartley Witney.................youwanted it more than we did

Cheers Moleskin

Had a great day at your place, the hospitality was first class.

I wouldn't be surprised if your club put in a report for us trying to tap up your tea lady...fab cakes.

Looking forward to the next round with the cameras at Hartley. A win then and it's a bumper draw with the cameras at home to Maidstone.

Come on the Row!

Farleigh 3 v 1 Westfield

Last game at Parsonage Field for Farleigh Rovers 1st team set up a good game where both teams before the game had 100% records and hadn't conceded a goal so something had to give.

Westfield started the better of the sides as we struggled to get to grips with their formation, they got themselves on the scoresheet after 20 mins, albeit a very dubious decision on the offside from the inept linesman. Westfield had another chance to increase their lead when 2 players ran through again from offside positions only to contrive to pass the ball straight to the Farleigh keeper. Farleigh then got to grips with the game and equalised on 35 mins, a quick free kick 4 man move from the half way line ended up with Dan Wayman popping up to smash the ball home. There was a couple of half chances for each side before half time but these were only long range shots not troubling the keepers. Half time 1 all but Farleigh in the ascendancy.

Second half started with Farleigh pressing the game and starting to pressure higher up the pitch but not really creating many chances, the first chance fell to Westfield when Farleigh's keeper came for the ball and the small centre forward managed to out jump our 6'7 keeper. Luckily the Westfield forward did not know where the ball was and was cleared to safety, this incidently was Westfields last chance with 30 mins to go. 25 minutes to go and the ball was played out of defence to Rhod Davis who beat 3 players, slid a great through ball to Dave Stevens who made no mistake flicking the ball passed the keeper as he came out. With Farleigh on top there was some controversy with 20 minutes to go, the Farleigh keeper caught the ball then rolled on the floor in the area then picked up again, this should have been a indirect free kick to Westfield in the area, however the ref played on and from the keepers kick a flick on to our forward Dave Stevens who made no mistake scoring left foot into the top corner from 10 yards. All of the Westfield players surrounded the ref which resulted in a couple of yellow cards and a red card for Joe Loyza, this in essence made the game safe for farleigh who should have added to the scoreline.

All in all another good win and 100% record and a good to sign off of many happy years playing at Farleigh, however the record will be severly tested next Saturday to Hartley Wintney who got a great result yesterday in the FA Cup against Molesley FC - Well done to them.

Egham 1 Guildford 3.

Another very average performance from Egham at the Runneymede today. Which begs the question does Steve Baker know what he is doing?

Formation seems to be all over the place. We have so many strikers, but it seems defenders are what we desperately need.

Pomroy, very average and no effort.

Not a happy bunny tonight.

Are you kidding me? 2 games in and your questioning the manager you dick!!!

Well said Pearcey. I notice he has joined the site just to have a go at the manager. Don't know who he is. I may even have been standing next to him as we failed to score a crucial second from a hatful of chances in the first half. True, we should have buried GCFC. Steve Baker can't legislate for Barrance missing sitters though. I can't comment on any "afters" as I had left the ground as soon as the final whistle went, but as for Steve Baker's supposed potty mouth I heard only what most managers say when chances are going begging and players are making the wrong decisions. He also shouted "We've got to start putting these away lads" just before GCFC levelled, and "No shots!" just as the 9 was about to drill in the third, aided by some more slipshod marking.

No mate no predictions as for dark horses far from it. Just doing the simple things at the minute and in the middle of building a very young raw side into a mature footballing side. Will take time but happy with the start.

I think the lesson is thus:

If you are going to publicly slate an individual for doing something, don't then do the very thing you are criticising them for - especially when all eyes are on you. Basically, don't be a hypocrite.

One game doesn't make up for previous misdemeanours, nor does one fracas makes us the worst disciplined team in the league. As far as I'm concerned that's the end of it, and I look forward to meeting Egham again later in the season.

Shame i thought Molesey were the best team we played pre- season, very organised. too early to say but whats been the problems?
