Tomorrows starting lineup

Bateman says in todays paper that he will have to disappoint some people. If this is the case then who in your opinion should start and be on the bench tomorrow. I would go with the following:

Jacko in goal although could easily be Perksy as they are equal, Jacko just talks to the defence more.

T O'connor Yads Seeby Murphy at the back, would have put sweeney in but he hasnt played most of pre season and so i think T o connor will be sharper at the moment

Sincs Coyne Logie Swift in midfield, without a doubt the best midfield in this division

Martin and sonner up front I think Martin needs to prove himself this year.

My bench would be Perksy, Sweeney, Byrne, Herron, Mendy

The first change I would make would be Mendy for Martin if martin is not interested.

i really like Dean Harper but the back four of Sweeney Yeboah Seeby Murphy is comfortably the strongest defence we can have at this point. as said Harper can't play anyway at moment

having heard about signing Logie i hadn't really thought too much about quite how good that makes our midfield. finally Swift can go wide in his better position and as said thats a superb defence

if only we had a strikeforce we could really really trust to bang in goals galore. defence and midfield is fantastic for us but strikeforce im a bit wary about. lets wait and see

i wanna stress i believe the strikers we have can do a job but maybe not quite enough for us to sustain a title push over the whole season. saying that there is no point not getting right behind every single player and please lets stop with the picking out of certain players for abuse of sorts i.e Simon Martin. it can't do any good at all. in fact I'd back him to be the most frequent scorer of the current strikeforce

nah not on here particularly but a fair few seem to complain whenever he does anything remotely wrong at actual games. even this preseason i have heard a few moaning. not just Martin anyway just my point being getting on any players back is never going to help the team or the player/s in the long term

Hooray, the countdown is under 22 hours and silly season is officially over. Having seen none of the pre-season games and knowing very little about the likes of Logie I think I am in the perfect position to name the definitive starting XI.

Perks

Sweeney Yeboah Seeby Murphy

Logie

Coyne Byrne

Sinclair Swift

Sonner

That means we won't have much height in the attacking third but I think we are going to be all about possession football and working opportunities and then lightening breaks.

If we are going to stick with a more traditionally 4-4-2 then it is Byrne out for Martin in my view. Can't wait till kick off now, that playoff final seems like an eon ago.

My team tomorrow would be 4-4-2.

Perks in goal.

Sweeney,Yeboah,Seeby,Murphy in defence.

Sinclair,Coyne,Swift,Herron in midfield.

Sonner and Martin up front.

Subs: Jackson,T.O'Connor,Logie,Byrne,Sippets.

I think we must impose our attacking play on Barton Rovers tomorrow from the off. My chosen side has a good balance and gives Adam Logie time to bed in,as a sub.

As we're playing one of the lesser teams in the division,I feel our defence should be able to cope and that our midfield has the potential to cause the opponents,a lot of trouble. I thought Stuart Swift and Chris Herron looked like forming a good understanding in one of the pre-season games, add Danny Murphy to the mix and that is some left hand side.

As for our bench, that covers all possibilities, given injuries, the need to change tactics[if behind in the game-Heaven forbid!] or shutting up shop to keep Barton out.

barton one of the lesser teams , hope that statement doesn't come back and bite you in the preverbial derrier, i would like to remind you that until the last ball is kicked all teams are relatively equal, just some are more equal than others.

Perks will be in goal and Jacko (played on Tuesday for Flackwell) not be on the bench at the expense of an out-field player.

Simon Sweeney WILL be the first name on the team sheet with the subs being Byrne, Herron, T. O'Connor, Sippetts and Kean with Mendy losing out IMO.
