Saturdays Game...

now I've had a chance to ponder on the pattern of play I will make the following observations about the game....

 

we had at least four good chances in the first half and all were blazed wide...at this level that won't do...

 

we were very poor on set pieces and often failed to clear the first defender...schoolboy errors that again will bite at this level...their goal came from our set piece that was cleared by the first defender..

 

elementary stuff I'm afraid to say...

 

we never really dealt with the pace of their 10 and 11...both dangerous but easily dealt with by good positional play...half the time we were woefully short on that and those two gained far to much space in the second half...

 

on the plus side I thought that on another day we could have had three goals in the first half and without wishing to get into the ref thingy....on another day we could have had two penalties...

 

it evens itself out over the season...

 

as for the pitch...we'll see worse as the season progresses....it cant be used as an excuse...

 

disappointing start but I wouldn't change things to much....as one of our players said....

I guess your right about the pitch i suppose we all thought that their would be a big improvement of pitches in the Premier.

 

Couldn't agree more about the set peices with Westie and Marso in the middle and Rowlands and Kimble when it comes to free kicks we really need to take advantage!

 

Without Daniel god knows what might have happened.

 

Still think the Ref must have gone in the Hendon dressing room!

LMU I wouldn't worry. The referee in question is a complete muppet except the muppets are bloody funny and he is not!!
