One more to go?

Hello all,

 

I have been happy to read that on the whole, on the pitch, things have pointed to a decent build up to the start of the season. A decent win over what I think was a scratchy young team from Gillingham seems ok and an unlucky loss to Whitstable shouldn't dent confidence going in to the season I hope.

 

Anyway, I am sure you all know this but I have a general question that I would like the opinion of everybody on. I have just moved to a new country so have missed out on vital information and the handful of games I may have got to with my Dad (yes, my Dad goes to games and is often on here, but I will leave that for him to announce or you to guess - its a brand new game!).

 

How are the Gate looking for this year? Are we expecting a big turnover of players? is this a settled squad now? Will we lose anyone realistically before next Summer? Can the manager take us on? What do we expect as a successful season? Who will stand out on the pitch? I would love if you all can fill me in on these things, sorry that I can not get there to find out for myself but I am propping up the Finnish branch of the MFC supporters club on my own.

Well, I guess that the overseas supporters are spread far and wide across the world, I live in the mountains of Crete, so can't make the home games.

 

Great forum, lots of informed opinion and facts, often humorous as well. Okay so every forum has the odd weirdo that you could do without, but there you go. So

thanks everyone from an exile.

 

Will follow the fortunes of the Blues each week, listening to GateRadio - could someone ask the commentator to repeat the score more often, as it's difficult

to listen every moment of the match. Listening can be real agony sometimes

 

Anyway, good luck to the Blues and all you fans for the coming season

 

[Now I have to confess that the last match I saw at Hartsdown Park was in 1971! Followed the Blues as a schoolboy right through the 1960's ... halcyon days.

Not quite jumpers for goalposts but nostalgia is a great thing!]
