Price increase

As from tomorrow night the price of all drinks will go up by 10 pence.This is because of the recent rise in v.a.t

There has not been a recent rise in vat. The vat rate was brought back in line earlier, 1st of January i think. we have already had an increase on the price of drinks for that but i do not recal a decrease in the price of drinks when the vat rate went down 2.5% to 15%. The next increase is vat is by 2.5% on 1st Jan 2011 from17.5% to 20%.

The last rise in prices was because of a rise by the drinks distributor not because of a tax rise,this rise is in line with the recent increase

A 2.5% increase on a pint at £2.85p = £0.07p and not 10p by the way.

Tbh I think putting it up 10p is easier,means you very rarely have to deal with 1 & 2p coins which are a pain in the ar£e

Tbh anyone who gives up on a football club over 10p obviously doesn't really give a toss about the club

I moaned about the last price increase but never ever thought about not following Hornchurch over it

I will definitely be going to more games this season now.

 

It's gonna be great to actually watch a game with out constant abuse of the match officials, constant swearing, abuse of away stewards and fans, and watching someone throw their weight about.

 

I wish we made this price increase earlier.

I don't think anyone likes paying more but I can't see what the club can do - times are hard.

Bob did tend to overdo it with the abuse as well - chasing down the ground after the officials etc.

TBH imo apart from weatherspoons " even there prices are going up" and the odd free house you would be lucky to pay 2.75 for a pint in most places nowdays mostly where i have been locally etc ive paid more but as stated by Kimble just dont drink in the clubhouse but 10p is hardly a killer rise just live with it we are in a climate now where we have to try make ends meet etc if by putting the alcohol up and helps out the club then so be it.

Not sure I see the need to have posted the news to be honest, doubt whether many would have known prices had gone up and if they did wouldn't really be that bothered but making it a news item on a forum has opened up an unnecessary debate.

The last price hike people moaned because they wasn't told (myself included)

No one said anything tonight and the bar was busy so I guess it's just a forum moan up lol
