Scotty te Stag took part in this afternoons Mascot Race at the PFA Football Furlong at Windsor Races. In a race that saw entries from Stoke City, Portsmouth, Oxford United, Harlequins and London Irish RFC as well as many others Scotty the Stag amazed race goers with a 3rd place finish in his first ever Mascot Race.

The race took part over 1.5 furlongs with an inflatable obstacle course in the middle of the race. The top three places went to;

1st Oli the Ox - Oxford United FC

2nd Pottermus - Stoke City FC

3rd Scotty the Stag - Windsor & Eton FC

Following the triumph in the race the top three were invited to take part in a penalty shoot out against a goal keeper from the Chelsea coaching staff. Unfortunately for Stoke City FC, Pottermus picked up an injury and was unable to compete in the penalty shoot out. However Billy Blood Drop from the NHS blood donor service was on hand to compete.

In the penalty shoot out it was Oli the Ox who claimed victory!!!!

Scotty the Stag was happy with all who turned out to support him from WEFC and was happy to meet new faces from around Windsor. Scotty the Stag also commented that he was happy with a 3rd place finish on his Sky Sports debut and he is looking forward to the Mascot Grand National in October!

It was a good effort by Scotty the Stag. I was particularly impressed by his manoeuvre around the obstacle course!

Shame about the penalties, although he did send the keeper the wrong way with one of the kicks. Must have done him with the eyes.

Highlight of the day has the be the bookmaker who was punching the air and doing a jiggle when the big favourite got turned over in the 4.30 race.
