Good win for Eton Manor on Saturday. I decided to go there rather than to Barking v Enfield at the last minute. Manor played pretty well, but Takeley looked very heavy legged and the game was dreadfully officiated. Supporters from both teams ended up laughing at some of the referee's decisions which seemed like nothing more than guesses or "who appealed the loudest", and then the lino failed to spot either of the two blatent offsides in the build up to the second goal.

 

Spoke to friend who went to the Barking game, and he felt they were a little unlucky to lose.

There will be a lot of complaints about officials this season (again) the penalty given against Bethanal to Bowers was more than laughable

Interesting comments here. Glad to hear it was not just me that thought we were hard done by. We had a clear goal scored by Harry Stevens ruled out for goodness knows that reason. Enfield were not as good as I thought they would be, perhaps just early season rust. But on this performance I cannot see them winning the league.

 

No real surprises elsewhere but I am sure there will be some thrown up in the coming weeks.

 

Really impressed with our summer signings and the future looks bright for the blues.
