Scores - First Day

He is by far one of the worst most inconsistent referee in the league. That shove could have instigated a 22 man brawl and should have been a straight red!

HI JJ, WELL DONE SATURDAY....... BUT 7-0 ! SO COME LETS BE HONEST WERE COVE THAT GOOD OR WERE RPV THAT BAD ? I UNDERSTAND THAT BOTH DOBO

SNR & JNR WOULD HAVE BEEN WELL PLEASED !

RPV werent at all that bad. Cove just did everything that was asked of them and it all came together. It really could have been 10.

Dobo snr and jr were unavailable for comment at the post match interviews. Probably cos they were not in attendance. Shame!

Felt sorry for ex Cove player Anthony Vine who was by far RPV's best player. For him to have left Cove and then get dicked by Cove 7-0 has to be hard to swallow.

Sandhurst tomorrow but we're def not getting ahead of ourselves. Reckon we'll only score 4. Joke!

Local grudge matches are impossible to predict. A 1-0 win or a draw will do me!!

How's Ash United looking Dunc's?

Who is Bonzo's assistant and how strong do Ash look??

Rumours were that there were only half a dozen players at the first few pre season sessions!

You playing for Sandhurst or Bracknell in the FA cup TC?

Yet to decide. I have been asked not to play for Bracknell so I do not cup-tie myself, but if I go with Sandhurst, I will only be on the bench. At the same time, I have only ever played three FA Cup ties, drawn 1 and lost 2, and the body clock is against me.

Surely the lure of gracing the hallowed Meadowbank turf so early in the season is too difficult to resist?!

To be fair JJ it wasn't a great game for Ash but as you and I know they have ball1x in abundance at that club and they are as a club capable of picking up 3 points even if they play badly, I don't think Bonzo had anyone helping him on saturday, they are still hoping to sign a few more players in the coming weeks once the league settles down and players start returning to their clubs, like you I also heard they were struggling pre season but I don't think they were alone in that department.

JJ, Darren doesnt play for RPV at moment, so that's the reason he was'nt there. I was unavailable due to Grandson's 1st birthday party these things happen, not happy with the result and not happy, from what I have heard about comments made from some people at Cove about how we shouldnt be in the league because of our facilities. All of witch will make it all the sweeter when we visit your carpet of a pitch in the return. im available for comment now.

which people Dobbo??

certainly not me!

I actually forgot to mention how excellent the pitch was at Grand Drive. Its by far the best condition i've ever seen the pitch. Lots of grass, very flat, and easy to play on. Puts our pitch to shame but then you and i both know the problem Cove have with the pitch and the water. Its not for the lack of trying and effort from the groundsman.

Why does Darren not play for RPV AT THE MOMENT!!

Didnt think much of your new Woking stand!! 4 bits of timber and 2 chairs! Bit of a let down really!

Egham Town 1 Mole Valley SCR 4. Five seasons on the spin without an opening day win. Egham played Grave, Pomroy and Barrance up front and it looked good in the first half with some lovely touches and quick breaks. Just before the half ended Taylor Mollatt took a long ball from defence, with three MV players offside, and knocked the ball in for Nehemiah Adams to score. Early in the second half we went two down as the same scorer took a chance made by Mollatt and it was three after 72 mins when Richard Smith forced Justin Gray to make the best save of the game then turn the rebound in. (Second best was from Anthony Guiney, diving to his right to stop Mollatt scoring an o.g.) There was an immediate reply from Matt Grave after a scramble in the box but a penalty with five minutes left (scored by Phil Page) put the tin hat on it. MV played with a good pace and an infuriatingly tight offside trap that kept catching our forwards out. So much for my prediction of a 3-1 win! Still, at least it is not as bad as 0-7... Not sure if we were pony or if MV are a decent side. Best if Mr Baker comments on that. For sure we were second best too often.

I think it was a case of Mole Valley turned up and we did not.

There is always a shock result on the first day just never thought it would be us !

Really disapointing performance, after the Uxbridge and Beaconsfield games. For me they worked harder and had more desire. (not like us)

I do however think 4-1 was not a fair relection of the game and the first goal was a mile off side and the 4th penalty was a poor decision.

No excuses though as Mole Valley were deserved winners on the day.

The only other disapointment of the day was a particluar Egham fan effing and jeffing at me and telling me to sort this sh*t out

Some people have very short memories!

I wish we had a game tomorrow night as after a poor defeat you want to bounce straight back.

However a hard session without the ball may do the trick. Not a disaster just a bad start.

Cheers

Steve

Good, honest posting, Steve. That's what baffled the Sarnies; we almost had a Delia moment ("Come on Egham, where are you?") I have no doubt the forwards will fire but we did look ponderous at the back. I don't know who the sweary person was - I bet he wasn't doing that last season in our unbeaten run that gave us two byes in the Vase. I hope you don't mind me putting your comments on the eghamtown.com site. I hope that is the last we see of non-performances like that, but then I've been watching Egham for 40 years...

JJ Not sure who, because was'nt there and only getting it second hand. Yes pitch is looking good, shame we didnt play on it. I was shocked when I heard the result, pre season's been going well was sure someone was winding me up. Darren's still not sure whats he's doing yet, will prop get itchy feet soon. Your comments about our stand a bit harsh, we are proud of it. Looking forward to Wednesday's game.

Ha ha! Probably won't be, looking at a CCL/Sussex County League tie as there's always decent interest from the Nomad forum lot. It's a ratings game you know :)

At the moment Darren Wilson, Ben Williams, Mark Corbett, Danny Wilde, Rob Webb and Jonny Horner have gone there with a 7 day approach in for another of our players and numerous other 'approaches' that have been so far unsuccessful. I'm sure one or two more will follow but we just about managed to get a side out on Saturday and picked up a decent result so hopefully we'll get by this season.

I'm sure FFBB (whoever he is) was only having a bit of fun with his dig at Farnham as we all wish the ex-Sandhurst boys all the best this season.

Hi Dobo, I was there on Saturday and heard the comment made at the time, can't say on the website who it was but I'll tell JJ when I see him next. I stupid comment to make anyway, and in ear shot of management staff in totally out of order!
