Ash 1 Villa 0 wonder atrike from Anill I think villa had as much as 70 percent of possession and a couple of good chances, the Ash keeper was superb and made a great save at the end of the match that would have given the villa at least a deserved point,Ash were poor but still ground out the 3 points and hit the crossbar twice on the break in the 2nd half ,the Ref did not have a good game and seemed to penalise villa with some strange decisions

Chertsey 3-1 badshot. Very feisty first game of the season for Chertsey bit a fully deserved win!! Chertsey opened the scoring when a looping shot from Dean papali went over the keeper and into the far corner, badshot then equalised early in the second through a penalty after jack Francis had pushed a badshot player on the back, the lively Marty Baxter then regained chertseys lead with a poachers goal after a jack Francis free kick had been saved by the goalkeeper. badshot never gave up and were a very organised side but Chertsey and in particular Tom oregan managed to break and a stunning finish from oregan after holding off two badshot lea defenders wraped up a very physical game for Chertsey!

If you are going to steal other players the least you could do is get his name right...

3-0 win for Molesey today, deserved and could have been more but we hit the bar once and the post twice!

Looking good for the new season

Bookham 0 v 2 Croydon A nice day down at Meadowbank met a few Friends,B.J.R,Lightning McQueen, and the nicest man in Football Ray Collins the Dorking Chairman.Had a beer or few as well with the locals. The match was competitive but fair and well Officiated by a newby Referee to the C.C.L. but one to watch,Peter Meek, calm cool collected and not over busy,1 Yellow for a deserved foul. The game hinged on a 5 minute second half spell, when Croydon scored 2 good goals, the first from debutant Morgan Genden, the 2nd from debutant Danny Cumber. Not a great display but 3 points in the bag.ONWARD AND UPWARD

Sandhurst 3 Epsom and Ewell 1

Sandhurst deserved their win as Epsom produced a largely disjointed performance at Bottom Meadow today . Apart from a 5 minute or so spell where Darren Smith pulled it back to 2-1 and we hit the bar we really didn't put anything much together despite Mark Jarmans hard work up front . The 3-1 goal on the break from an Epsom free kick which was attempted to be taken early and messed up summed the afternoon up. A series of saves by Neil Harrowing saved further damage.

Nice to see Krooner again (briefly) and I agree we were poor first half . We look for better at Croydon on Wednesday ... at least golden goal bingo participants have their first number to mark off

Nice to see our neighbours have a successful opening day...... Any Egham fans willing to give some inside info on mole valley for next weeks facup? What happened to the pomroy/ grave partnership? We still love u pommers!!!

Pomroy/Grave/Barrance/Muldowney/Siabi/McCarthy will come good, I am sure. MV very quick. Midfield all decent players. Think that's enough from an Egham fan...

As for "We still love u pommers!!!" - bit early in the season to start trying to entice him back, isn't it?

Steal is a strong word Elfmole, players do have minds of their own,but many follow the £ note. You should feel sorry for Staines Lammas,as in your Scenario Molesly stole him from them, after they stole him from you.

FNE 1 SHEERWATER 2.

Good competetive game, Sheerwater went in at HT one nil up when it probably should have been 4 or 5. Fair play to FNE though they came out stronger second half, both sides had good chances before Talbot got his second of the game on 70 mins. Farnborough plugged away and got one back from a corner when their 9 foot (may not be excact) striker nodded in. We parked the bus last 10 and were under a lot of pressure but held out for a well earned 3 points.

I assumed Baxter left Staines at the end of the season and he was available again?

MOLESEY let him go and then welcomed him back... Unlike this time around with Chertsey.

But I don't want to start anything again so I'll leave it there!

agree with abit of duncs report as we did come away with 3 lucky points but thought the ref wasn't that bad. I'm hoping we will get better as the season goes on but Hanworth were a decent side but like us just lacked a real quality forward to put away the chances they made.

Egham Town 1 Mole Valley SCR 4. Five seasons on the spin without an opening day win. Egham played Grave, Pomroy and Barrance up front and it looked good in the first half with some lovely touches and quick breaks. Just before the half ended Taylor Mollatt took a long ball from defence, with three MV players offside, and knocked the ball in for Nehemiah Adams to score. Early in the second half we went two down as the same scorer took a chance made by Mollatt and it was three after 72 mins when Richard Smith forced Justin Gray to make the best save of the game then turn the rebound in. (Second best was from Anthony Guiney, diving to his right to stop Mollatt scoring an o.g.) There was an immediate reply from Matt Grave after a scramble in the box but a penalty with five minutes left (scored by Phil Page) put the tin hat on it. MV played with a good pace and an infuriatingly tight offside trap that kept catching our forwards out. So much for my prediction of a 3-1 win! Still, at least it is not as bad as 0-7... Not sure if we were pony or if MV are a decent side. Best if Mr Baker comments on that. For sure we were second best too often.

Thought we played well today, and the two goals either side of half time was certainly a bonus - tbh if we had gone in at half time 0-0 i would have been happy (your boys should have taken the lead when you cut us apart, just before we scored).

Pretty accurate assessment of the game, although i think Anthony Guiney save, in the build up to your goal was better than the one fromMollatt.

The big thing for our lads is to repeat that performance on Tuesday - it is easy enough to get up for "one off" matches (like the Vase tie with Guildford last season), but we have to learn to do it on a regular basis.

Thanks to your board - made us very welcome.
